Introduction

At SteemAlive, we not only think about recruiting new users, engagement and retention of the people that joined us are also top priority. And just as @steemitblog has been doing overwhelmingly well in terms of innovative concepts to keep us entertained, educated and rewarded, we also think everyday about how to make here fun and amazing for our new and old members. We have been brainstorming about idea activities and right now, we are ready to present to you our brand new project called Live and Direct (Lid).

What is Live and DIrect (LID)

Everyday, we witness lots of events, activities and other things that happen while we are at a particular place. We likely want to share these live moments with people near and far. We may not have the time to write a lengthy article such as a diary post, but we want to have a forum to quickly share live moments we witnessed with friends and followers here. That is what Live and Direct (LID) is all about.

Live and Direct (LID) is a daily blog post that will be made by the SteemAlive. Utilizing the comment section in this daily LID post, participants share those precious live moment they witnessed at any point in time. Did you just wake up? Are you stuck in traffic? has it started to rain? Are you touring a facility? Did you witness a clear blue sky? Are you travelling or attending an event? Are you working at a craft? are you in a queue inside a shopping mall? Is your street empty because of unrest? Share those live moments with us. The truth is that there are too many things that we do or witness live which we want to share with others on the go. The main idea behind LID is that everyone becomes a live moment/news reporter. What you post under our daily LID post is something happening right there and then.

Feature of LID

We want to make LID fun, educating and informative. There are certain elements or things that would make LID to be an awesome activity. They include the following

1. Picture: Each LID comment must contain at least 1 image to show the moment or event being reported. It must be an original and live image of what is happening at that time. We may allow up to 3 pictures per LID comment/report.

2. Time: The timing of any report is very crucial. Hence, as you make your LID comments under our daily LID posts, make sure to include the local time of your live report.

3. Location. You must be detailed in your location report so we understand where the event is happening!

4. Description: You do not need to write an entire blog, but it must be informative enough. We want to understand what is happening in 1 to 2 paragraphs.

How do we start

It is best to start most things in life from the beginning. So we will like to have the first LID reports to be something in the morning, from there, you are can hop in and drop other LID reports as the day runs down.

For a start, The first LID reports should be a clear selfie of when you woke up or just you in the morning. So for each day, the first LID reports should be a morning selfie, with the features we described above. Then as the day progresses, you are free to make 2,3 or more LID reports.

This is a fresh and new project which we are starting with this first post. We hope to fine tune it as we see how things turn out.

Engagement is what we want to achieve too through LID. So as much as you make your LID reports, also enjoy the reports of others by replying their comments and interacting with them. Remember, we want to make it fun, educating and informative.

The Rewards

@steemitblog has been supporting our community in a large way, we hope they will give upvotes to any iinteresting LID reports in the comment section. As a community, way will start in a small way, given we have limited resources. For now, we will reward 0.5 Steem to the first 15 LID reports each day for the next 7 days. After this initial one week, we will see how to improve the rewards. At our discreetion, we will also give bonus Steem to reporters that engage with others. So try to engage with others too.

Community Suggestions and further

This is just a new project we developed from the live reporting we enjoy when we see the news in the media. We hope that more suggestions will flow in the coming days from all of you. We will think about the suggestions and implement the finest ones. We will mostly leave it up to you to decide what to report. But in some days, we might want you to cover a specific subject such as city traffic, weather, street report, Religious report, events and anniversaries, etc.
