Sweetest Memories Of My Two Friends

Just early of this year, I think that was month of February, men cleared the property about 500sqm near the road that leads to our house, I estimated more or less it is just 75m away from our house. Timely I passed by to buy something to our neighbor store, Curious, I asked them what were they doing. They answered, Globe tower will soon rise on that location. The next day early in the morning one of our neighbor who live next to the propose tower passed by the house and let us sign the petition for not allowing such tower to be erected in our location. They passed it to our Barangay Captain. But, the petition was just filed, the construction of the tower won.

The following day, construction materials were delivered and men built their bunk house. When I went to the store timing the construction workers took their snacks and I chatted to the young man who watched over the construction site and we became friends, his name was Simo or Anselmo. This young man was respectful and industrious. He called me Ate and always saying hi to me whenever I passed by the construction.

They bulldozed the property when they did the foundation. Even at night, we can hear the bulldozer was still working. They work round the clock. Same, I have chatted with the bulldozer driver, too.

The tower was almost finished fast.

Then all of the sudden, the construction was stopped. For how many days because I have done my grocery the fridge was full, I did not passed by the store so we wondered why no more men working at the construction site. So, I went to the store, naki maritess. Ho, my! I was shocked what I've heard. Simo died and the bulldozer driver, too!

This was the story, the store owner told me. When the bulldozer driver was excavating the foundation not intentionally killed 2 black turtle and the other one turtle survivor was brought by Simo to their home, to feed and made as pet, he even slept then the trutle placed over his head. Then all of a sudden he was sick he can't get up felt fever. Same with the bulldozer driver he was sick, too. Plus the other workers who were sleeping in the bunker at dawn they heard a woman crying at the construction site. They were afraid when they hear those aching cry. Oh, my, my when the store owner told my hairs stood up. Not only the workers heard the crying, also my neighbor next to the tower, heard a woman crying. Weird....

I really can't believed both men died, too young and both were really strong healthy looking.

It's almost a year when the tower's construction was done but until now the tower was not operational, we do not know the reason why.

Sweet memories to my new friends, prayed for their soul's and still very puzzled until now with the cause of their death. And, now my belief getting stronger that we are not alone in living on this earth. So, we must be respectful at all times because we can not see them.
