Dear Steemit Team,
We sincerely thank you for giving us the golden opportunity to apply as community curators. We are applying for the January curation program, as we have formed a separate team dedicated to supporting newcomers.
The primary focus of this team is to support and help new users joining the platform to grow. It must also be ensured that the team's activities are not limited only to voting support but also verify the authenticity of new users, provide them with necessary guidelines, and encourage them to build their reputation on the platform.
The team will also check whether any account is abusing the rules, and the team members will work to detect such instances. Following all the rules and thinking about the betterment of the platform, this team is applying for the January curation program to support newcomers. This team will serve as a mentor for newcomers so we are introducing to you Team SteemMentors.

We have successfully finished the November Curation Program. Our team did a good job guiding newcomers and identifying plagiarism.
In November, we noticed that when newcomer activity is low, curators sometimes have to vote for the same users to keep the account active. We believe this encourages newcomer for bad habits. To fix this, we want to be more cautious. Instead of a fixed number of votes per curator schedule, we will curate eligible posts as much as possible to maintain quality and avoid abuse.
We will use steemworld to track activities. Our idea is to limit curation to a maximum of 3-4 posts per newcomer each week. This will stop vote concentration and help more users get fair support from the curator account.
We also noticed that some newcomers do not prioritize powering up. We want to make sure users are building their accounts for the long term and influence our support for those who are genuinely active in the community and powering up regularly. Our team will strictly monitor this and provide clear guidelines in the comments about why Power-Ups are important.
Lastly, we found that users start a power down right after their 3-month newcomer period ends. We see this as a misuse of our support. Our team will monitor these cases weekly and be very strict. Users who show such intentions will be reported or excluded from curation to protect the platform's growth.
Our primary goal will be to guide new users in adhering to platform rules and improving their post quality. Our team members are fully experienced in providing the correct guidelines to newcomers and we are very alert to fake and duplicate accounts created just to get rewards.
We will not limit our task only to voting for newcomers. We will check their complete profiles and provide them with the necessary guidance to improve on this platform. We will also encourage them to engage in healthy blogging and build their reputation by interacting with the community.
Our team member have previous experience in serving in newcomer communities where they gain proficiency in validating and verifying user authenticity using appropriate tools. These experience will be healpful in leading this team. All our team members are skilled in using various tools and detecting abuse and they are experienced in checking for plagiarism, Copyright and AI content.
So consider us as a Newcomer focused team in January and we ensure that we carry out our important duties properly.
