Para conseguir estos resultados normalmente los cruces son muy endogámicos, con ejemplares consanguíneos lo que acarrea enfermedades congénitas que afectan a la calidad de vida del animal, y ahora no somos menos bobos en este sentido de los poderosos de la época victoriana por lo que las razas de perros siguen degenerando y con ello su bienestar.
