There Are More Things To Life; Embrace Them

in Project HOPE7 months ago

One of the things that I have understood about life is that there are many unpredictabilities surrounding it, but it is still worth living. There are times that things may happen in an unexpected manner or what you did not expect happens, you have to learn to brace up and welcome it, while acting to either face it or react against it. More so, there are things in life that, even if you try your possible best, you still cannot change or alter them, so the only option is to accept them and then adapt. However, it takes building up yourself effectively to be able to welcome life as it happens.

Over the years, I have come to the realisation that it takes an extensive level of maturity to be able to welcome and embrace what you cannot change about life. Of course, there are things that have the propensity to change, then you can change them. Then there are things that you cannot change, you have to make the right choice of accepting them. But in all these, you need extensive amount of wisdom and maturity of the mind to be able to know the difference between what you can change and not.

Part of what weakens people's morale is that they are trying to change what cannot change and in the process, they become discouraged and then become weakened by that. But if they will channel the energy they would have used to change what they cannot into undertaking an action to create their own change, they will see how beautiful life can be. For example; you cannot stop rain from falling. No matter how hard you try, once the cloud is saturated, it must come down as rain. So trying to prevent it will simply make you to expend energy in futility. However, you can channel the energy aright and use it to build a shade, so that even if the rain falls, you will not be drenched - this is how you welcome the eventualities and unpredictabilities of life.

You will agree with me that when you were growing up, there were things that you wanted to have achieved before certain age in life. In fact, you had a lot of ambition and your preferred choice of career. However, when you started to grow, a lot of things happened and you realized that you may not even be in the line of the career again but have trailed a different path. Of course, life happened, so you had to adjust to it. In life, you may have planned on what to do, but you still have to be prepared for what life will bring at you. This is why I normally tell people that; "even if you are hoping for something good from life, you have to also make plans and be prepared for anything at all."

There are more things to life than what you may ever think. So you have to be ready to position yourself to welcome it. To effectively welcome and face things as they come, you need to build up yourself and develop capacity to handle what is coming. One of the major reasons why people crack under challenges is not because what came to them is bigger than them, but because they have not developed enough capacity to handle it. There is a level that you will build yourself and you will not be scared of what life will throw at you because you are now well able to manage and handle it. So to live life effectively, you have to learn to build yourself mentally, knowledge-wise, physically, etc.

It is worthy to note that what you give out in the days of challenges is simply what you have built up on the inside over the time. No soldier learns how to operate his weapon on the battlefield - he has to have mastered it beforehand so that he can face the battle. In the same way, you do not have to wait until the day of challenge to develop yourself; you should live ready in life and not just merely getting ready at the sight of challenges. It is what you give into life and how you face it that will determine what you will get out of life.

If we had the power to control situations, it would have been easier to have everything we want, but when we set our hearts towards the unexpected, it will be easier to achieve whatever we set our hearts to.

Such an insightful comment from you. Thanks a lot for coming around dear Bimbo

It is very funny how things could suddenly change throwing away the power we have towards planning and organization, but we just need to learn how to look for opportunities through every situation that comes along and see how we can turn it for our advantage.

That's right, there is always an opportunity in every situation which we should look out for. Thanks buddy
