The diary game: A Day of Fasting, Work, and Eid Preparations
I got up very early in the morning at around 4:30 AM, and then added some procrastination before I could get up because I felt that I wasn’t able to complete my sleep. Still, due to the compulsion of having the pre-dawn meal within time, I got up and purified myself by performing ablution, and then only after having the pre-dawn meal called Sehar, I went to offer the morning prayers in the nearby mosque.
As soon as the prayers were over, I returned back home and then got to bed to sleep for some more time, as I was feeling sleepy throughout the prayer and felt like there was some more need for sleep. Only after I woke up again at around 9 AM did I get up, and now I tried to do some household chores and help my mother, as the festive season of Eid is near and preparations are in full swing. I helped my mother with some cleaning activities, and then I also went to the orchard where I needed to have a look at the grafts that we had implanted last year. I could feel that they were going through some stress phase, and also part of these grafts was deteriorating because of some unknown reasons. After consulting a specialist in the mainland, I came to know that I need to apply some copper on these branches to help them heal.
After going through Indian history for some time, I was called by my friend, who told me to accompany him to a bakery shop located in a nearby town, and we also had to do some other things. Only after offering the afternoon prayer did I accompany my friend, and then we went to the nearby town. We had to buy some food items for Eid and also some medicines from the medical shop located there. We also got stuck in a traffic jam. We had to buy some feed for the rainbow trout farm located in the town, and there we needed to wait for some time as the dealer wasn’t there. Upon his arrival, we sat with him and discussed how we could manage this business, and only then did we return towards our place.
While moving through the town, we again got stuck in a traffic jam for some time. These days, driving through the open fields is quite a pleasure because of the yellow mustard fields, with mustard in full bloom imparting an absolutely eye-catching beauty to the surroundings. Upon returning back home, it was time to offer the afternoon prayers, and then I helped my mother with some household chores. As I already mentioned, the festive season is near, and we need to do things well in time to enjoy our Eid to its fullest.
Now it was time for breaking the fast, and I needed to arrange things for it. I had to cut fruits, prepare some beverages, and other eatables that are typically consumed during Ramadan days. Later on, after breaking the fast and offering the prayer, I returned home and had dinner along with the family. After some time, I offered the special prayers which are only offered in Ramadan, and as these are the last few days left, everyone seems quite concerned and does not want to miss them.
Later, after returning home from the mosque, I went through a few more chapters of Indian polity. Finally, it was time to go to bed so that I could wake up early the next morning.
