The diary game. Better life with steem. Cold Winds, Warm Hearts, and Old Memories
I got up very early in the morning, as I have a habit of rising early, and as soon as I woke up, I purified myself by performing ablution and went over for the morning prayers in the nearby mosque. It didn’t take me much time to reach there, as it is only a few minutes away from my home, and as soon as the prayers started, I entered the mosque and joined the congregation. After some time, I returned back home, and it was time to help my mother in the kitchen with some household chores.
As the temperature had gone down considerably because of the rainfall over the past few days, it was quite comfortable to sit beside the electric heater, which generated good heat, making the environment peaceful and cozy. After finishing breakfast, I headed towards my room to read a few chapters, as it has been my habit, and I love reading history and knowing about what has happened in the past.
In the afternoon, after having my lunch, I went to my maternal home, which is just about 1 km away from my place. I felt a strong desire to see my grandmother, who has always been so caring, compassionate, and loving towards us. Now that she has grown old and cannot stand on her own, we need to be her support system and be there for her at all times. Staying with her is always precious, and I never get bored, as she loves to share her experiences, and our presence gives her an opportunity to express herself, especially since there are not many people left in the maternal home after my uncle moved away.
After spending some time there, I decided to return home. On my way, I passed through the main route of the village and met my friend who runs a shop in the market. While I was there, another old friend, who has been involved in business and contract work for the past few years, also joined us. We spent some time together, recalling old memories from our school days.
As it was getting late, I decided to buy some groceries that I needed and also went to my uncle’s place to bring milk back home. By the time I reached home, it was already quite late. I had something to reflect upon—one of the decorative plants that I had been growing in my backyard for the past few years had turned pale, and it seemed like it had lost its life. I searched on the internet to find ways to revive it, hoping it might recover, but it appeared to be heavily stressed. Still, I remain hopeful that it will come back to life and restore the beauty it once added to my home.
Later in the evening, I again went to my room and read a few more chapters of history to understand what our ancestors have done for us. After having a cup of tea, I couldn’t focus much on my studies due to the cold, so I stayed in bed to keep myself warm and started watching an IPL match. It got quite late, and I had my dinner around 11:30 PM. After that, I returned to my room and went to sleep.
Thank you
