The Tron Fan Club is a specialized community working on some specific topics. As a moderator of the community, I am regularly sharing several tutorials to help newbies. In this series of tutorials, I am trying to share the basic issues of Steem blockchain.

From previous four tutorials, someone might be nervous on steemit account security. With a single mistake wallet can be empty at once or account can be lost with the loss of passwords. Don’t be confused. Here in this last part of steemit security tutorial, I am sharing some techniques or guidelines of being protected.

First
Regardless you access your wallet, you should use only your posting key. Since, we will always do social activities, it is enough for us to use posting key only. Most of our regular activities can be done by posting key. And if you ever need to work on your wallet or make a transaction, then you will login from a specific device with a trusted browser and log out after the work is done. You should avoid using other keys except posting key.

Second
You should never keep your keys on your mobile phone or computer because if your mobile phone or computer is hacked or goes under someone's control, then he will get your keys or passwords easily. Suppose you put these keys as a PDF file on your computer or mobile phone and your mobile phone is lost or stolen. Then whoever gets your phone can use these keys for transection of your wallet. So the wisest thing to do would be to keep a backup in a trusted place online as well as write it down very well in your home ledger or in a safe place (e.g. in your diary or other safe place). And note that, without writing down all the passwords in one place, keep the most important one (master password) in a very safe place so that master password can be protected always. You should always pay attention to the master password and your active key.

Third
Be sure to pay close attention to the address bar when entering the key to a website because those who do phishing or want to steal your password will show you a similar interface that looks exactly like Steem login. When you go to the steem login (steemlogin), they will create the same interface as you were supposed to come in front of and you will think that you are giving the password to steem login site. But really it is a trap normally does by hackers. So you must make sure that the address bar is the address of the website you want to access.

Fourth
You should always check if your password is saved by going to the browser settings. Sometimes cache or cookies will delete them and start again. Passwords are often stolen with various extensions or plugins. So avoid using extensions without a trusted source. Unnecessary extensions should be removed or disabled. However, if you see a phishing link, do not click on it. If any spy software i.e. spyware monitors your browsing activity then it is unfortunate for you because it is watching all your activities and can see your password at any time. And for this reason, if you refrain from clicking on unwanted sites and links, you can stay away from this problem. Turn off unnecessary internet connection and less visit to untrusted websites with your regular steemit using Personal Computer (PC). You can you two PC for several operations. For your sensitive active always use a PC and for other works another PC.

Fifth
Steam-Login and Keychain are the two trusted sides through which you can access your account. Keychain is a browser extension. These sites do not store your password so you can freely enter your password or key there. Here, you only have to enter the key for the first time and later you can create your own password and continue your work by logging in with that password.

Sixth
Check if your recovery account is fine. You should set your recovery account for a trusted user or site like steemit. You can set your account recovery account. Any account can be used but you should use trusted account so that you can get help from there.

Finally
You don't keep any liquid steem or SBD in your wallet but keep it powered up. If you want to keep liquid then keep it in savings wallet from where it will take 3 days to make withdraw. You can check notifications or activity when someone powers down or wants to remove from savings. So you will be able to know if someone got your account password.

I hope by following these guidelines you can save yourself in terms of security issues. Thanks and best of luck for all.

CONCLUSION

I am trying to share the details of Steem Blockchain in simple language in a consistent way as a collection so that anyone can easily know the details about this blockchain in one place. Those who newly want to work in the Steem blockchain can easily access to this world of Steem blockchain by studying the basics of steem series from here.

DISCLAIMER

I have already shared similar tutorial in Bengali language in আমার বাংলা ব্লগ community. This post is not shared under Self Plagiarism but shared on this platform for educational purpose to maintain tutorial archive. Basically, Steem tutorial series posts are for the newbies in the Tron Fan Club community those who want to know about Steem Blockchain. Hopefully, they will find Steem basic tutorials sequentially at a single place. You can find here the post already shared in another language.

Security is the most paramount when it comes to a blockchain and you have devoted time to talk on the guidelines to stay guarded on Steem blockchain. Thank you

To be honest we all worry about security. But I like your advice. Nice idea. Which will be very useful for us. Best wishes to you.

Security of assets is really important. Insight into this aspect is really appreciated. I enjoyed your blog
