The Diary Game 21/01/2022 - The Frst Space Film Studio Will Open On The ISS. Tom Cruise Will Star in The First Film Shot There.

Russia has already shot the first film in space aboard the International Space Station, but a UK film production company plans to set up a studio in space.

The company is called Space Entertainment Enterprise and plans to build a private module on a new space station, which will serve as a filming studio and gym.

The studio will be attached to a new space station, which will initially be assembled on the ISS

Space Entertainment Enterprise claims to be producing Tom Cruise's next film, which could be filmed in space. Basically, the company is working in partnership with Axiom Space, which is setting up a new space station. It would initially be attached to the ISS, and would be assembled for the next few years. The new station is called Axiom Station and could soon reach space, its first module, Axiom Hub 1, to be launched in 2024.

However, the attachment to the ISS would only be temporary, only until the rest of the station is assembled. Once all the modules are attached, Axiom Station will be able to be detached from the ISS, and the deadline for completion seems to be 2028 at the moment. The movie studio module planned by Space Entertainment Enterprise, SEE-1, would also be attached by Axiom Station sometime in 2024.

It will be accessible to those who want to film or broadcast live from space, and can be rented for film, television, music or sports events. The module, spherical in shape, will be an "inflatable" type and will be able to extend to a diameter of 6 meters. For a space module, its dimensions are quite generous. It is probably necessary to have as much space as possible in order to be able to mount the equipment necessary for professional filming, such as lights, cameras or decorative elements.

Production costs in space will be very high

NASA and Axiom have confirmed in the past that they will send Tom Cruise into space aboard a Crew Dragon capsule from SpaceX to film a project on the International Space Station, but we do not know exactly when that mission will take place. Given the current schedule for building a new station with new modules, it is likely that in 2024 the actor could arrive in space as soon as possible. However, Axiom's first private flight on the ISS is scheduled for March this year.

The project that Tom Cruise is working on with SEE and director Doug Liman, which will be filmed in space, currently has an estimated budget of $ 200 million, but if some of the filming takes place in space, that budget could be quickly exceeded.

SpaceX is charging about $ 55 million for a Crew Dragon capsule, while NASA is charging for its use of International Space Station facilities.
