...continua

One evening Luca goes down to take out the garbage, but when he tries to return to his house, on the 20th floor of a suburban building, he discovers that another person lives in his apartment and that his life, as it was until some moment before, it no longer exists. From this moment on, new and unexpected adventures begin for Luca, which mix with the memories of his old life.

""As long as you have the money to pay."" I can't say she answered me kindly, but her concern might have been understandable. I got a hot sandwich, a beer, a bag of chips. I was so hungry that that sandwich seemed to me one of the best ever eaten in my life. Even the cappuccino and the brioche that I took afterwards seemed delicious to me, looking at the bar the doubt that it was all due to hunger became a certainty. It was a tiny bar, in a very peripheral metro station, very dirty, with few things, a grumpy manager and, as was immediately deduced, not exaggeratedly fond of order and even less of cleanliness.
Refreshed and rested, I got up and paid for what I can't say if it were a lunch, a snack or a dinner. Almost half of my income I squandered like that for that meal. Eating at the bar was not within my reach, with what I earned I would have been better off buying something in a supermarket, but it was my first salary and it deserved to be celebrated with panini and cappuccino.
The bulk of the people returning home from work had not yet passed, so I decided to play some more music, I was hoping to get some more money back, perhaps what I had just spent on food. What seemed clear to me was that not even with a day's work would I ever set aside enough to eat and sleep. As I took my seat, I reviewed my situation. Now I had a tool that allowed me to raise money, a few pennies a day though. By being careful I could certainly have enough to eat and I would also have some leftover each day. I still had nowhere to sleep and I had no money to pay for a room, provided and not granted that I was able to find someone to give me one.
I proposed my meager repertoire again, always the same, four times. I stopped when my hand hurt too much to continue and my voice began to give signs of letting up. The busiest hours had rewarded me, perhaps also because the working day was now over and the few who stopped were more likely to leave a coin. To my amazement the money often came from people who didn't stop at all, while many of those who stayed to listen then ran away like thieves without paying. Coming from me, I thought, he was a little laugh, I was the one who had run away twice without paying from the same shop just a few hours before.
I put all my money in my pocket, took my things and went back to the little bar again to have a well deserved coffee. I had been up for at least three, maybe four hours and I decided for a rest session at my table, by now I was a regular at the place.
