Bayern Munich 1-1 Paris Saint Germain
This game was nowhere near as thrilling as last weeks 5-4 game. I think the major reason is the early goal scored by PSG. Only three minutes in and they already had a two goal lead. And for the rest of the first half PSG controlled the game, only the last five minutes of this first half was Bayern able to push them back into their own field. One thing I must say PSG's goalkeeper, Safonov is great at saving but boy he sure can't kick a ball, in fact the Bayern goal came from one of his incredibly bad kicks, all of them end up out of the field. OK, we also had a referee call in this first half that was questioned. Vitinha kicked the ball trying to get it out of the area, Neves, I think instinctively put his hand out. Now it was a clear hand ball, but I think the referee was right, there could not possibly be any intent, the ball was leaving PSG's area, but I think Bayern fans can reasonably say it was a penalty.
The second half was less fluid, PSG were playing with the clock in their favor, Bayern did have ball control but they seemed too hurried, making defense easier. Both sides did have chances, and there were sparks of great football. Bayern was finally able to score a goal through Kane, who always scores, but there was only one minute left. And it was game over PSG is in the final.
I could say this should have been the final because both teams play to win. But things are not what someone wants but what they are. So the final is PSG-Arsenal in Budapest. Favorites of course are PSG from what has been seen in the semi finals. But Arsenal has some good players and I think anything can happen. So the champion will be either French or English. I am not a fan of either of these two teams so I just hope I get to watch a great game.
