Hello my dear colleagues. Thursday was my second cycle of chemotherapy with the new medications. Thank God I have not had any major symptoms and I can still do all my things, which is what worries me the most since I am the one who goes out to look for medicine, food and take tests without problems.

And as always, I was accompanied by my dear and beloved sister, who gets upset if I don't take her as my companion to help me. The companion is for the things that one needs to buy in case something is missing among the supplies that we must bring, she is the one who would have to go to a pharmacy that is around the hospital and is the one who must accompany the patient to go to the hospital. bathroom to help him since we have a hand immobilized with the helmet and the medicine put in the solution.

That day I got up at 5 in the morning since the night before we had no electricity (they turn off the electricity for 4 hours every day and we almost always have it between 9 and 1 am.) and since it didn't give me time to pack my suitcase with my sheets, my blanket and my medications so I had to get up early. I had to have breakfast, I ate cooked banana with cheese and took Aprepitan, which is a medication to counteract the symptoms of fatigue.

When we arrived they informed us that the bell in the room where they prepare the medications is damaged, but that they would still attend to us. It just took time since they took all the supplies and medications for another oncology that is half an hour from the hospital and they returned at 12 noon. Upon returning they immediately placed all the solutions with their treatments on each patient. Even so, I left at 3 in the afternoon since this treatment must be administered slowly because it is strong and can cause a reaction. Thank God I didn't need to be injected with Hydrocortizone, that's progress.

The room was full due to the problem with the bell, no one had been served this week. But they still treated us very well, as always. The Foundation also visited us. Take some time for yourself, bringing a little of the word of God, praise, a snack and a lot of information to help us in some cases about treatments. It was really helpful.

I give infinite thanks to God for all the beings that he has placed in my path that have made this desert no longer look so desolate, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and with the company of all of you, your words, your prayers and All your positivism has helped me a lot to change the way I see and feel things. Infinite grace from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you so much for your support and prayer. Amen.

Judging by your story, the treatment is successful. We wish you a speedy recovery. All hope is in God and we believe that he will not leave you.

Thank you very much friends. He can do this.

You are so very brave to be going through all of this @isabelpena and you still manage to do it all with courage and a positive outlook which is amazing! I don't think you know this - as we did not speak for a few years when I stopped writing, but my mom passed away from breast cancer in June 2020. She never did chemo. She refused. I think the idea of everything she would have to go through scared her terribly... so that is why I take my hat off to you for having the courage to do this!!

It is wonderful too, that you have people who are kind enough to come and lighten up the mood for the day. I read a book once, which was about a woman who healed her own cancer and one of the things she mentioned at the beginning of the book was that she started watching comedies every single day. It has been said by many that "laughter is the best medicine" and there is a lot of truth in that, because laughter is a positive distraction which reduces stress.

So perhaps you need to start watching some good laughs too! :)

I wish you a week of physical peace, ease and comfort Isabel. Take care sweetie. Lots of love - AND LAUGHS!!! xxx

Mucho amor - ¡¡¡Y RISA!!! xxx

What beautiful words you say to me friend, thank you for that. The strength and change in mentality that I have made has been given to me by God through the people that I meet every day on my path who tell me that I look very good, that it does not seem like I have something as big as Cancer. At first I was afraid to mention the word since it is a disease that everyone rejects, but you have to face things and that is the beginning. I knew that you had lost your mother, yes, but not that it was because of this illness. What a pity that your mother did not receive treatment since she would have extended a few more years of life and she would still be with you. We should not judge those who freeze with the horror of the word and the treatments, they are not easy. But we must trust only in God who strengthens us. Thank you darling @jaynie for your words and it is a pleasure for me that you read my posts and comment on me. Thank you thank you thank you.

Yes, it was a pity - but like you say... it was her choice. Definitely not an easy one.
