Drawing with chalk I (#club100)

Hi friends!

A great and inexpensive way to draw and use colours is chalk on kraft paper (the common wrapping paper).
Kraft paper is easy to find in different thicknesses, and you can find chalk in a wide variety of colours.
I want to show you now in practice the use of the drawing method for the human face explained in previous lessons.

-----------------------------------------------

On 200gr kraft paper, I began by drawing the main helplines with a chalk pencil to define the position and proportion of the face.

Once all the features of the face have been drawn, I proceed to "erase" the complete drawing with kitchen paper. This is the result.

Then, with sanguine, ocher chalk and brown chalk, I paint over the drawing.

With a piece of black chalk, I outline the hair.

Finally, adding yellow and some touches of white I finish this study drawing.

In this closeup, I show you the interesting texture that can be achieved with chalk lines on kraft paper.

I saw this drawing earlier but wanted to write more later due to other commitments. I was surprised that you created such portrait on wrapping paper. It made me curious if you are talking about the paper that is slightly brown in colour and the one that we can get when we are shopping?

It is interesting how you developed such beautiful facial features, I love that highlight over the nose and of course, on lower lip. Looks really nice.

Hola profesor espero se encuentre bien, gracias por compartir sus conocimientos. Para mi es interesante dibujar con tizas pero a mí se me ase un poquito difícil darle los detalles finales a los dibujos. Feliz día.
