Creeping Thyme a good ground cover

Hello dear Steemians,

Obviously due to nice warm days we try to spend more time in garden and also do some work to make our garden nice place for insects. In the past probably about 5 years ago we heard about Creeping thyme that normally has many little flowers and attracts bumble-bees and bees. Also on other hand it is growing quick and covering the ground so well that there is no place for weed to grow. We actually had enough to remove weekly weed and create space for our plants.

That is why my hubby after reading about thyme decided to try to plant two different some with different colours of the flowers. We decided tog et white and violet.

We bought equal amount of plants of both colours and planted them away from each other. The first year we have nice colourful carpet of thyme with beautiful flowers and smell.

But year after year we noticed that the white plant is dominant and conquered slowly the space, pushing away the violet one. Which is still OK; but we were surprised that it is not violet one that won the battle. Nevertheless you can see how it is looking now. Still beautiful and of course no problem with weed there but plenty of insects, that are simply climbing on the plant they even do not fly, because probably there is not sense the flowers are everywhere.

If you also tired of tidying up your garden beds, try creeping thyme and you will not regret the decision.

This is nice.
Just curious, is it this same plant that's used in cooking?

That was my question too, but I found that this one is not for cooking but it has the same smell :)

Wow, that's nice.

Очень красиво! Любопытно, будет ли расти у нас. По-моему, ему требуется много света.

Very beautiful! I wonder if it will grow in our conditions. In my opinion, thyme needs a lot of light.

Тимьян ползучий может расти и в холодном климате как в Скандинавии только не в тени :)

Que hermoso, parece una alfombra natural.

Yes, that is the reason why we decided to plant it :)

Es genial ver su esfuerzo y cuidados florecer.

Very beautiful! Is it the same thyme that we use in food?

No, not this one, but it has the same smell like thyme for cooking :)
