Happy to see that my 2 year old son has started learning to pray and joins in praying with me
Seeing my 2 year old son start learning to pray is one of the greatest honors in my life. Every time I see him standing next to me when I pray, my heart is filled with deep gratitude and pride. This moment feels very special because it not only shows his physical and cognitive development, but is also a sign that spiritual values began to be embedded in him from an early age.
At 2 years old my son is still in the exploration and imitation stage. Watching him attentively while I prayed and did prayer movements made me feel very excited. He often tries to imitate simple movements, such as standing up straight, bowing and prostrating. Even though his movements weren't perfect, his intention and effort to follow through was invaluable. This shows that he is starting to understand the importance of prayer in our lives as a family.
This process is certainly not always easy. There are times when my son feels bored or impatient, but I try to remain patient and give him praise whenever he shows interest and effort. I often talk to him about the meaning of prayer, even though he may not fully understand it. This is a way to familiarize himself with a spiritual routine and add good habits from an early age.
Apart from that, I also try to create a positive and pleasant atmosphere when practicing prayer together. I make it quality time to teach him gently and lovingly. Seeing his little smile when he manages to follow the movements or hearing his cheerful voice when reciting simple prayers is very encouraging.
This learning process certainly requires time and patience. But seeing small progress every day gives me additional encouragement and motivation as a parent. I feel that by involving my child in prayer, I am not only teaching him about religious obligations, but also shaping his character and closeness to Allah. This is part of our efforts as a family to build a strong spiritual foundation that will support him throughout his life. Finally, the joy of seeing my young child begin to learn and understand prayer is something that is priceless. Every small step he takes on his spiritual journey is a source of pride and joy for us as parents. May he continue to develop and grow in faith and goodness and may we always be given the strength to guide him with love.
