Obertraun Ski Resort Trip

Hello friends. I want to tell you about our trip to the Obertraun ski resort. We visited here for the New Year's holiday. We spent a week skiing and enjoying the holiday at the ski camp.

As soon as we arrived, we settled into our hotel. There were closets made of real wood, and our room had a very pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. The kitchen and living room were very spacious. Having a kitchen here was very practical; we had everything we needed in the kitchen: stove, kettle, coffee machine, microwave, a small refrigerator, and I think there was even a freezer. There was even a toaster in the kitchen. We had actually made a reservation for this room in August because this area is a popular ski holiday destination, and there's a large influx of tourists in winter. It's necessary to make reservations in advance to find a good hotel and a nice room at an affordable price. We rented this place for 6 nights and paid a total of 877 euros. It was also very nice to have a sauna in this hotel, but the sauna was not operational during our visit because it was Christmas holiday.

After leaving our belongings at the hotel, we went to the nearby Terrase restaurant. Obertraun is a typical ski resort. There are large restaurants, and there are special stands in front of the restaurants to leave skis; skiers leave their equipment and dine in the restaurant. The atmosphere was beautiful, everything was very elegant and comfortable. There was even a handy phone charging device in the restaurant; you can leave your phone to charge, and it's completely free. We also left our phones here for about an hour. We tried Tiroler Groestl and liked it very much. We paid 12 euros for one portion.

We went to a bar called Schrotteralm afterwards. There was something interesting at the bar; you can subject yourself to an alcohol test at the entrance. You drink something, take a hammer, come here, and hit. If you can hit, maybe you drink something more, then you come back and hit again, but if you can't hit, it means you're drunk enough :)

Take a look at these faces and see if you can guess who they are from their expressions. These are the famous Beatles quartet. The group rested here in Obertraun at the "Edelweiss" hotel exactly in 1965 while shooting a scene for the "Help" musical. The city is proud of the Beatles' visit in 1965.

Pay attention to this interesting photo stand dedicated to the Beatles. The metal skier statue is also remarkable. Notice how skiers dressed in the mid-20th century - without helmets, but managing with sunglasses.

You can rent a ski school for your child here. This includes meals and will cost 450 euros for a six-day camp. Our children who went to the ski camp were having lunch at this wonderful restaurant. They were skiing until noon, then having lunch here. It was very beautiful and comfortable. If you are interested in skiing, I definitely recommend Austria.

This is the local hospital in Obertraun. Injured individuals are brought here and treated, and first aid is provided here. There are helicopters landing on the asphalt next door, bringing in climbers.

The children displayed what they learned over the week. Everyone was encouraging them. One contestant fell, but quickly got up. The rabbit helped, lifting him up to continue the race. There were even medals for successful contestants.

We left Obertraun with beautiful memories. If you love skiing and happen to be in the area, I highly recommend visiting this beautiful ski resort.
