Club100// The Diary Game 3: BetterLife with Steem (30/09/2022)
Greetings dear friends on the steemit platform, it’s another happy day even though the environment is tensed with a lot of uncertainties. We are in a state of emergency as military patrols on every corner of the streets. But we are still happy because that is what keeps me going while hoping for better days ahead.
Today I am delighted to share another diary session with all my friends and wanna be friends on the platform. It was a calm morning, and as I earlier said there was uncertainties. So, many business places were locked and movement within town was limited. Notwithstanding, when I got up from bed I saw on my daughter’s school WhatsApp group a message one parent was asking if parents should send their kids to school.
I was surprised why that question when it’s Friday and obviously a school day. My husband told me that rumours were circulating that Friday was ghost town. I asked him who declared the ghost town and we could not figure that out. Immediately, the Head teacher replied the message that parents should send kids to school. We prepared our daughter and my husband took her to school.
When they left, I had plans to visit Y’G Inc. to buy kola coffee since the one I had was finished. I took my bath and also bath my son. We ate breakfast together, which was French bread with omelette and tea. I decided to first go by the road to check how movement was. I could spot few taxis moving and bikes. Most business stores were locked. I came back home and took my son along. We took a bike to Y’G Inc.
We arrived Y’G Inc. at about 1:30 Pm. Unfortunately we were welcome with bad news that the CEO was kidnapped the previous day on his way back home in the evening at gun point. However, the separatists took him to one of their camps around town at Ntankah, cash out about 120,000frs CFA that was in his mobile money account, took his phone, laptop charger, and his wallet with his Identity card inside. Luckily they released him but did not handover his belongings. He could not come to the office and stayed at home.
After giving me all the bad news, I went to the coffee desk to check on which size I am purchasing. I had to buy according to my money 🫣🫣. I then decided to take some selfies with the coffee.
The sales person who was there introduced me another tea they were selling as well. The name of the tea was Kwajika tea. I decided to take a look at the content of the tea. It is a combination of lemon grass, njinger and mint leaves. I do not like the lemon grass flavour and so could not purchase it. However, I took a picture it to help them market the product on social media.
It was almost 2:30 pm, closing time for my daughter. I send @saxopedia who works at Y’G Inc. to pick her up from school since my husband was busy and did not have time to pick her up. I gave him money to take a bike to her school and bring her at Y’G Inc. I wanted to leave them there and rush to the market to purchase some food stuffs for the house. Unfortunately when my daughter came, it was raining cats and dogs and there was no way I could go to the market.
We stayed there waiting for the rain to seize before we could come back home. While waiting, my husband’s friend called me to ask if I was at home. The wife was experiencing contractions and they needed to take her to the hospital to put to birth. He had a 1 year 9 months son and did not want to take him to the hospital. He was calling to bring the son for me to care for while they spend the night at the hospital.
We left Y’G and took a bike back home. I heated food and we ate together. Boom, the child came and little did I know that it will be a sleepless night for me. Immediately the father left, he started crying profusely. Worst of it all, my son did only want me to carry the child. I had to carry both of them and they did not allow me to seat down.
It was a night I will never wish it repeat itself again. Literally, from that moment the child came, I could not do anything and was sleepless throughout the night as he continued crying. Even when I felt like he has stoped, immediately I laid down, he started crying. That is how it all went through with me and before I go, I wish all my Nigerian friends happy Independence Day.

It's really an uncertain time for all of us, I'm sorry about the CEO of YG Inc I hope he gets better. And your son looks so cute when he is angry.
Thanks for sharing
It’s difficult to heal after such an experience especially his case as the boys are still holding his phone, bank cards and ID. Nonetheless we hope he recovers from it soon. He needs a psychologist to counsel him a lot from the trauma.
At least we thank God his life wasn't taken
Exactly🙏🏽🙏🏽.
If na me with that pikin ehhh I go put some frightful film like chucky so then tell him that if he does not stop crying Chucky will just come and swallow him 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 That is child abuse and I am a human rights defender.
Yes , first off October 1st was our Independence indeed . Thank you . However you did have a perfect going day , despite the separatist locked down disturb. It seems rained on it own slight taken part from your successful and perfect day . Notwithstanding your day was well spent. Though lately stressful due to sleepless night encountered.
The day was bright in the morning hours but later in the afternoon when I had to rush to the market, rain spoiled all my plans. Worst of it all was the sleepless night I experienced which affected me for days. Thanks for your support.
