Happytime Murders Promotional Event
From time to time, I get to attend promotional events for various films and TV shows, but I have to admit that this one last weekend was the CRAZIEST of all time LOL. It was for the new Happytime Murders starring Melissa McCarthy. After waiting in line for a considerable amount of time, we were permitted to go downstairs and enter "The Inkhole," a bar that seems like it might play a significant role in the film. Upon entry, we met in a "tattoo parlor" where one girl was selected to receive an airbrush tattoo—and a puppet told us the secret passcode to the speakeasy right next door. A brick wall then opened up and we provided the bouncer with the password, which was "Puppet Fluffer" lol. Once inside, our senses were inundated with the Happytime world. Mirrors and lights abounded, and it almost looked like a magic show might take place at any moment. A bawdy torch singer went up and gave an incredible performance as people played blackjack and indulged in other speakeasy-esque activities. Our wristbands had two drink tickets on them, so I opted to get the "DTF," which was made with whiskey and ginger juice. It was delish! On the way out of the bar, we were treated to a game that was "covered in puppet jizz" according to its operator LOL. This was at the start of what I would refer to as the red light district part of the experience. Then my eyes were treated to the hilarious sight of puppets on the pole, as well as one puppet spanking another. The sex shop at the end boasted all kinds of hilarious comic book covers. Surely an evening to remember!
