This Apartment’s Extra Room Was Empty, So IKEA Turned It Into A Multipurpose Living Space

in #home7 years ago

If you’ve ever lived with roommates, then you know how difficult it can be to compromise when it comes to utilizing shared space. Even if your roommate is your best friend, you may not have the same decorating style, or even similar ideas about how to use your shared living areas.Roommates Oak and Antonio are good friends. However, the duo had trouble deciding what to do with the extra room in their apartment in Portland, Oregon. Months after moving into their new place, the two still had no idea how to use their common area: Antonio’s an artist who needs work space, while Oak is a medical school student in need of a study zone.Luckily, the IKEA Home Tour Squad came to the roommates’ rescue and helped turn the empty room into an area for studying, drawing, and hosting friends. With just $2,000, the living space was turned into a dining room/study room hybrid where Antonio and Oak could relax on the couch with a book or use their desks to work.“I think that this room is inspiring us to take on more creative tasks, to study in peace, and not feel like I have to rush out to some cafe,” Oak said. “I’m definitely going to have a lot of friends over!”Check out the video below to see how the IKEA Home Tour Squad helped Oak and Antonio furnish their living space.
