ORPHANAGE " EVERY ONE DESERVES A HELP AND NOW YOU'RE ON THE CLOCK "
Last August 20, 2016, as part of our Regional Conference in Singles For Christ Philippines, we have visited the St. Joseph Orphanage at Gango, Ozamiz city. There were 13 children to be exact in the Orphanage supported by the Religious of the Virgin Mary Sisters. As a team, we were able to have at least 3 children to handle and present a presentations base on their talents and capabilities , but before the presentation proper , we were able to asked the children namely : Grace, Mark and baby Roxan on their personal experiences of what brought them at the Orphanage.
Grace is a 20 year old Girl, who's the eldest inside the Orphanage , 10 years living at the Orphanage , out of her batch 2006, she is the only one left in her batch, some were able to stay away from the Orphanage. She shared her experiences that at the age of 10, her parents were both died in the same date, that is why she lived at her grand mother but unfortunately a months after, her grand mother also died, she was lost in herself , depressed and Loner , that is why her neighbour decided to brought her in the Orphanage because no one will take care of her .
The second child who was assigned to us named Mark, an 8 year old Boy and 2 years living at the Orphanage , he told us that his parents were both in prison due to some cases committed by them. We can actually felt his broken heart when he shared his life, he was even hesitant to continue sharing , he started to cry but we managed to comfort him and hug him so tight so that he can feel that he is still loved by many.
The last child assigned to us named Baby Roxan, a 3 year old Girl and 2 years living in the Orphanage, she cannot able to share her life to us, that is why Grace was the one shared her life, according to Grace at the age of 1 year old her mother died for severe disease and her father decided to brought her in the Orphanage for her own sake, because her father cannot longer support and provide her needs due to poverty, baby Roxan was so naive when we asked her name, and the way she looked at us, there is something in her eyes that is full of hope yet needs for parents or family's love.
They need a help and indeed we gave them school supplies like crayons , pencils, notebooks and etc. We have distributed 30 pesos to buy those school supplies, we also gave them prizes for their presentations like biscuits, juice and anything, as long as we can contribute happiness into their lives. Every one of us must be thankful enough to God for we are complete in the family , sustained by our parents on our studies and love by our family unconditionally.
And I believe that every single vote of steemit is a big help for them, we are interconnected with each other and we deserve for a help.
Lesson learned :
- Don't always blame and question on the negative things that is happening into your life , for everything happens has a reason.
- Learn to appreciate and contented of what we have.
- Learn to give a help and share of what we can give to those needy, it could be a sincere heart to comfort , small amount of financial assistance and prayers.
- Learn to value and respect your family even if it is not a perfect one.
Wow! It is a heartfelt experience and actions. I wanted to do this too my friend because my heart is close to the children who are abandoned by their parents. And as a single mother, children needs parental guidance and love.
Hope I can visit one day to some Orphanage. God Bless!
