Managed to a tap a tree in the crook where two grew together, no sap here all year

I wasn't paying attention and tapped a sugar maple where two had joined together many years ago. I got about 3 gallons of sap each today from the two trees right beside it, where from this tap I haven't gotten even a drop of sap all year. Just found it to be one of those interesting quirks working with living things.

Good job. Missed our window for harvesting maple syrup, but we did get some sorghum processed.

That's a grain correct? Do you extract the sugars into a syrup or something?
