My Bottle Collection - The Whole of It

SAM_3802.JPG

A few days ago I took everything off my shelves my Grandpa Buster made for all his kids and grandkids before he passed a few years ago. I love these shelves. They're very sturdy, durable, and made with love. Grandma Buster drew the design for the cuts in the front. I decided to fill them with my bottle collection this time. I put everything else away in a box, to go to storage.
I arranged the bottles first by color and then by size. Taller bottles went on the top shelves and shorter ones on the bottom ones. They're all clean, and dust free. I really like the way they look. Enjoy!

There are 76 bottles on the shelves with very few duplicates. 30 clear bottles, 12 blue, 22 amber, and 12 green.

Thanks for checking this out. I hope you like what I've done with my collection. If you have any suggestions of how I might rearrange them in the future, tell me! I'd love to hear about what you collect and how you display your collection for others to enjoy.

The bottles are very cool on the shelves made by your grandparents. We used to go bottle hunting around here, because so many people in days gone by would just throw their bottles into a heap in the back yard. It was a fun way to wander through the woods.

I do love digging through those heaps. What I don't enjoy are the ant nests you find in them!!!

I like what you did here!! And the pictures you took!! You are so creative sometimes, still waiting to see what you re going to come up with for all of your prints from shutterfly!!
I really like the blue ones, I wonder if you can find cork sizes that fit them all? Sorry I haven't been on to keep up with you, I'm going to try harder!! Glad you found a beautiful way to display your collection. Lots of hard work went into that!! It shows!

Thank you so much, @tiredmama! I hope you are feeling better and things have calmed down since the big sale. I love you!!!

Cool shelves made with love. Love the bottle collection. How long have you been collecting?

They really are made with love. I've been collecting about 5 years now. I have a few favorite old "trash piles" I enjoy digging through...carefully, with gloves! haha! Thanks!

The Scientist and I are both very excited to see this in real life. Looks awesome.

Thank you! I hope to see you two beauties soon!!!

That is an amazing collection of glass bottles!
I love walking through "old time' stores or museums and seeing their collections; and yours definitely rivals any that I have seen.

Aww, thanks so much, @goldendawne! I appreciate that!

Very neat and unique collection.

Great collection @hethur240 and lovely arrangement! I don't understand throwing these items away when 1. they're so useful and 2. they make wonderful decorations. I hope this post inspires people to do the same!

I use quite a few in my household to hold trinkets, or bathroom items. I have found corks for a few, as you can see. I'm hoping to find more to fit more so I can use them! Thanks for stopping by, @woman-onthe-wing!

Here you can make a photo session on the topic "Laboratory of the alchemist" :)

Haha! Yes! If only I knew exactly what the bottles were used for!

Oooh thanks for showing us your pretties! I love old bottles!!

Well, thanks for stopping by, @lyndsaybowes!
