Making one of the plants by intercropping
Hello steemian !!!
- I will share one of my activities today that is making plants with intercropping, incidentally today I and some of my friends also took part in carrying out this process and we enjoyed the work today
In further developments, intercropping does not only belong to subsistence farmers who only do farming on land that can be said to be marginal with minimum capital. Tumpangsari has been widely applied by both semi-commercial and commercial farmers and is also applied to fertile lands which are optimal for the growth and development of various types of plants. This is inseparable from some of the advantages possessed by intercropping cropping patterns.
- Land management is minimal
Minimum tillage is more evident in shifting intercropping patterns. In a rotating overlap, as soon as a plant almost completes its life cycle, it is quickly planted with other plants. As a result, there is no more time to do land cultivation. One of the advantages without tillage or with minimal tillage is that there is no damage to soil structure because it is too intensively processed. In addition, the minimum or no tillage will reduce the risk of erosion compared to those treated perfectly
Crops of more than one type will certainly provide diverse nutritional value. Each plant basically has different nutrient content.
In intercropping cropping patterns it is attempted to plant plants that are not one family. This is intended to break the chain of growth and population explosion of pests and pathogens because for one family plant species has a tendency to be attacked by the same pests and pathogens. In principle, the selection of plant species and the technical culture carried out must demonstrate efforts to maximize collaboration and minimize competition on cultivated plants.
Errors in determining the type of plant that will be intercropped can make the actual one become an excess of intercropping cropping patterns to become intercropping weaknesses. Competition between plants that is too high makes the yield for each plant very small which results in a value of land equality that is less than 1. In addition, there can also be difficulties in controlling pests and pathogens because intercropped plants allow pests and pathogens to host both Not infrequently, the costs for treating intercropping plants are also more expensive because they have to treat more than one type of plant.
