Planting Our Homestead Garden & Free Ranging Chickens
We moved to a new 18 acre homestead and are trying to become self sufficient and off the grid on a budget. We hit the ground running and started to work the garden.
I am sharing our experiences from the time we moved to our new homestead to the present. When I finish catching up, then you will have the background story. Then we will proceed with our daily videos and articles as they occur.
This was our third attempt at planting this year. When we moved to our new property, we planted 300 seedlings in starter trays. But one day I put the seedlings outside in the sun and went in for a coffee. When I came back out, all the plants were gone. I started to learn about ground squirrels. Little chipmunk like rodents.
So we bought plants and planted yet again. We waited until after Memorial weekend, when everyone says the last danger of frost is over for our area. It was a week after the holiday when we planted. It froze that night killing everything.
So we bought more plants and waited a while before planting. This time, our third time, we were hoping to get it right.
I take our young chicks out each day to sort of free range and eat bugs and plants. They get fresh air every day and free food. This gives us healthier birds and cuts our food costs.
At night they chicks go into the chicken brooder with Tiki lights to keep them warm. This is a string of lights so if one bulb goes out, the rest will stay working. This ensures that we do not lose any birds to the cold.

Due to you guys threatening and harassing my subs, yes it has tanked.
Its a scam when you lie and say you are living off the grid, when in reality you house has power and is not connected to solar panels. The inspector said once you connect you will have to be inspected, and you have yet put in a permit, therefore either your lying to your township or your committing fraud by lying to people. Which is it Mr.Reid?
dont troy say at the beginning of his vids since he moved that hi is " striving to get off grid " or words to that effect ?

The "3rd" planting went the same way as the weedbeds he called gardens at the toxic dump in NY. Complete failure but never his fault.Most people produce more from a window box at an apartment building.
The chicken story is absolutely disgusting. Year after year the chickens died from malnutrition and dehydration but again it was not his fault. The Trolls, The Trolls, The Trolls! The little man is so deluded he actually thinks there are people surveilling his property to attack at every chance. The clinical name for this the DT's. Go back and view the videos from the past few years including any with joy the dog. His cruelty is not limited to killing chickens.The little man should be banned for life from owning animals or guns.The deer hunting videos with his sleep over buddy Trucker Buck are always special too. You may find an interest in the one where he completely blows the shoulder out of a deer with a cannon.

Just wait till we show all the food we have harvested this year. And anyone can go through our videos and see none died like you said.
But they can certainly go back and find that your friends killed my flock, slashed open my summer tent, demolished my fences and destroyed my chicken coop. The police where there too.
And what do you have against hunting? It is legal and part of becoming self sufficient. Funny you at least did not deny I put meat on the table.

Little man, little man! You seem to take issue with fact. Might be time you watch your own videos to see what is there. It would be a good idea for you to watch so you will understand how shallow and transparent your ebegging style is. I know you do your best to hide anything that will prove you wrong but that would mean a blank video.
While you call it hunting most on this planet would call it wasteful slaughter. Spraying deer particles through the air with a cannon is not hunting. Your definition of " meat on the table" is what most would call puree.
Still waiting to see that Police report and your building permits. I am sure you have not taken out any permits at the new toxic dump either.

More lies. Troy Reid does not have free ranging chickens. He keeps many poor birds in small tractors or concentration cells and many of them have died in the past due to his neglect and cruel methods. He has no regard for the lives of innocent creatures. His gardens have all been failures. He spends more on buying vegetables from markets and has even resorted to buying animal feed not fit for human consumption, because his garden yields have been so poor.
Only birds that died on this homestead went into our bellies. Year after year you say my garden was a failure but yet year after year I eat from the harvest. Still have some left from last year actually.
