Good evening Steemit family, I am @Akachukwu123321. Today is Thursday and I want to share with you part of my daily life here in Awka, Anambra State. This is something that many Nigerians can relate to.

Picture 1: Getting Ready, In the first picture you can see me standing with two buckets of water. One black bucket, one blue bucket. I wore my light blue polo and trouser because I was about to start my house chores. The ground is red sand, that’s how our compound looks. When rain doesn’t fall well, water becomes a problem. So we have to fetch and store.

Picture 2: The Work, The second picture shows me bending down to arrange the water. You can see other buckets, drums and jerrycans around. Water is life. Without it you cannot cook, wash, or bath. In the background you can see my people sitting. We all dey manage together.

This is the reality for many homes. Sometimes there is no tap water for days. Sometimes the water truck is too expensive. So the only option is to fetch, carry, and store. It’s hard work but somebody has to do it.

Picture 3: Carrying on the Head,. The third picture is me carrying water on my head and smiling. Yes, I smiled because even in the struggle, we must find joy. This is how we were taught growing up. Carry your load, but don’t let it break you. Put smile on your face and keep moving.

People might see this and say "it’s small thing". But to us, this is life. This is how we survive. This is how we take care of our homes. Fetching water teaches you patience, strength, and responsibility.

In this economy, everything is hard. Food price dey go up, fuel price dey go up, even water dey be problem. But we dey manage. We dey work. We dey hope that one day things will get better.

I posted these pictures not to complain, but to show real life. To show that behind the nice clothes and phone pictures, there is work. There is struggle. But there is also strength.

My question to you: How do you get water in your area? Do you have tap, borehole, or you also dey fetch like this? Please share in the comments. Let’s know how each place dey manage.

Thank you for reading my story. Stay strong. No matter how hard it is, we will keep pushing.

God bless you don’t let it break you. Put smile on your face and keep moving.
