The Wali Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, His Excellency Tgk. Malik Mahmud Al Haythar, emphasized the importance of comprehensive and integrated post-disaster management in a meeting with the Head of the Aceh Regional Command Post for the Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force (PPR), Safrizal ZA, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in Meuligoe, Wali Nanggroe.

The meeting focused on transparent governance, social justice, and long-term development sustainability.

Zulfikar Idris, Head of Cooperation and Public Relations for Wali Nanggroe, stated that the Wali Nanggroe was accompanied by Special Staff Dr. M. Raviq, while Safrizal was accompanied by Nurdin, Deputy for National Border Management at the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPP). The two discussed a number of strategic agendas, ranging from natural resource management to strengthening infrastructure and the regional economy.

The Wali Nanggroe emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in natural resource management, including providing public access to information on exploration results. He also encouraged a comprehensive evaluation of permits deemed unproductive and the eradication of illegal activities.

"Natural resource management must provide tangible benefits to the community, with the principles of openness and firm law enforcement," he said.

Regarding rehabilitation and reconstruction, it was agreed that the relocation of disaster-affected communities would be carried out in a planned manner to safe areas, accompanied by the provision of adequate basic infrastructure and communal facilities. The government will also establish no-development zones in disaster-prone areas as part of a long-term mitigation strategy.

"Furthermore, the role of traditional institutions was emphasized as a crucial element in supporting the success of the policy, particularly in maintaining social cohesion and ensuring a local wisdom-based approach," emphasized the Wali Nanggroe.

In the infrastructure sector, the meeting highlighted the urgency of accelerating national strategic projects, particularly the construction of toll roads and ports, to boost regional economic growth. This effort will be strengthened through the development of a post-disaster Aceh development master plan integrated with the revised Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) through synergy between the central and regional governments.

"From an economic perspective, investment into Aceh must be oriented towards added value, including empowering the local economy, technology transfer, and strengthening the regional financial system," stated Wali Nanggroe.

Wali Nanggroe also highlighted the importance of improving bureaucratic integrity and effectiveness, as well as transparency in budget management and public services, as prerequisites for accelerated development.{}
