Wali Nanggroe Calls for Unity in Acehnese People

The Wali Nanggroe Aceh Governor, His Excellency Tgk. Malik Mahmud Al Haythar, called on all elements of Acehnese society to strengthen unity for the sake of future regional development.

Head of Cooperation and Public Relations for Wali Nanggroe, Zulfikar Idris, stated that this call was made during an audience with representatives of young Acehnese ulama (Islamic scholars) in Meuligoe, Wali Nanggroe, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

During the meeting, Wali Nanggroe emphasized the importance of unity between the umara (government), ulama (Islamic scholars), and community leaders as the main foundation for building a better Aceh.

"We must all unite, be it the umara, ulama, or community leaders, to build Aceh in the future," said Wali Nanggroe.

The audience was attended by representatives of young ulama led by Abu Yusri Wali, accompanied by Abi Hamdani, Tgk Halimi Mahmud, Abi Fachrul, Tgk Khairun Nufus, Tgk Irvan, Tgk Dedi, and Tgk Ilyas Thaeb.

On that occasion, Abu Yusri Wali expressed his gratitude for the welcome given by the Wali Nanggroe. He also revealed the young ulama's plan to hold a gathering involving the umara (religious leaders), ulama (religious leaders), and community leaders in Aceh.

"We came to seek advice, suggestions, and insights so that this gathering can be successfully implemented. We also sincerely hope for the presence of the Wali Nanggroe as a unifying figure for the Acehnese people," said Abu Yusri.

He believed that the Wali Nanggroe's role is crucial as a mediator and symbol of unity for the Acehnese people, given that the institution is independent and encompasses various aspects, from religion and customs to governance.

Meanwhile, the Wali Nanggroe, accompanied by Member of the Tuha Peut Council Jufri Hasanuddin and Special Staff Prof. Dr. Rustam Effendi, welcomed the initiative.
