Shopping to Redeem My points
It was available for one day only, the 31st of December 2025, so eager to maximize savings on my regular groceries, I planned a shopping list including staples like rice, lentils, oils, dairy, and household essentials to hit the threshold.
But they said flour, rice, sugar, etc., were not included in this item, so I amended my buying list. Still, I ended up paying INR 4288, or approximately 650 Steem.
This morning, I headed to the local supermarket, a popular spot, the Vishal Megamart, with my loyalty app showing accumulated points ready for redemption.
The store buzzed with shoppers, so I went past them and took the lift to the 2nd floor stocked with deals on certain groceries, where loyalty programs often reward our visits with such bonuses.
I loaded my cart strategically. I selected cooking oils and spices, milk and curd packs, plus cleaning supplies and snacks totaling over INR 3700, thinking I qualified, but I had to come back and pick more items because some of these items did not qualify.
At checkout, the cashier scanned my items efficiently, confirming the list. I redeemed the 800 points instantly via the loyalty portal, deducting INR 400 from the bill, a pure savings on certain goods.
The process was smooth, with digital confirmation on my phone, leaving me thrilled with extra value amid rising prices.
Sure, this smart utilization stocked my home, but I bought a couple of items that were already present, or I did not need them immediately. I know why they offer loyalty programs, either to benefit budget-savvy shoppers like me or just to boost up their own sales.
In the end my total savings felt rewarding, motivating future visits for similar perks even if I bought a couple of unnecessary items.
