Happy Monday, I hope you have a wonderful Sunday altogether.

Two weeks ago, a group called the “Committee of Friends” in Uyo, one of them is a member of our church, informed us that they are coming for their end of the year Thanksgiving for all the LORD has done for them, we accepted their coming today. Other engagements were my invitation I honoured to The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Mary Slessor Parish 2025 harvest Thanksgiving, watching football and fetching water in the evening.

I woke up and observed a short moment of prayer with my family before all of them started preparing to be in church before 8am and this was possible. We had prayers before the main service commenced at 9am. As the church service was ongoing, the members of “Committee of Friends” who exist to provide assistance to every member and reach out to the less privileged in the society began to come into the church.

The service went with a power sermon on the topic “Safe Landing” taken from Isa. 41:10 embedded with God's assurance not to forsake His children and carry till the end. The message was timely as we are closing in for the year 2025. We praised God, prayed prayers of faith and the church was in power and deeper reflections on what God has done from the beginning of the year.

The preacher finished his sermon, the church continued with other formalities before calling the c xCommittee of Friends for their Thanksgiving which lasted for 15 minutes. They praised God with songs and dances before making a donation for the kingdom work in the church. Children who were outstanding in quiz competition were encouraged with a gift to go to school with. The service closed at 11:23am before we took some photographs.

After I lingered around church and met with first timers, I went to honour an invitation from one of our churches at Nwaniba community, The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Mary Slessory Parish. It was their harvest thanksgiving. I met them halfway but not late for part two of the service. About 1:30pm the harvest commenced, the congregants brought their farm produce with financial donations for the church building project.

After the service at 2:24pm, I went hope to have some rest while anticipating the matches in the evening, both premier league and African cup of nation (AFCON).

At exactly 5:30pm Manchester United took on Aston Villa at Villa Park where they lost the match. I am a Manchester United fan and at this moment I will not blame the players rather the coach who has refused to change the back three (3) formation. By observation, it is easier for any team to score against Manchester United with this stubborn formation.

By 8pm, the AFCON started as the host took on Comoros and scored twice under 74 minutes of play. Morocco recorded their first win as the host. After the match, I bathed and had dinner before going to bed..
