The Diary Game: When Sleep Won't Come But the Day Must Go On (12/04/2026)
Hello everyone and welcome back to another session of my diary! I am @gideonova and I am going to share with you my activities for today. It was one of those days that started rough but still found a way to be good. Let's get into it!
My night was not kind to me at all. I woke up around 2AM and no matter how hard I tried sleep just refused to come back. I lay in bed until around 5AM before finally giving up and moving to the living room. With nothing else to do at that hour I picked up my phone and started playing Free Fire to pass the time. One match turned into another and before I even realized it the clock had crossed 7AM and the whole house was starting to wake up. 🎮
We warmed up the leftover rice, moi moi, and stew from the night before. I squeezed in brushing my teeth in between the warming and when everything was ready we all sat down to eat. Rice and moi moi together — a combination that honestly never disappoints. It was delicious and satisfying. 🍚
After waiting a little I went out to feed my dog around 10AM. But by that time the sleepless night had fully caught up with me and I was feeling noticeably dizzy. I didn't fight it — I just went back to bed and let my body rest properly. I didn't open my eyes again until almost 1PM. And honestly? It was exactly what I needed. 😴
When I woke up in the afternoon I ate rice and stew with beans for lunch then jumped into some games with my friends for a while. After gaming I felt the urge to step outside and get some fresh air — sometimes you just need to leave the four walls for a bit. I went outside, breathed in, and spent some time playing with my dog. That little moment of just being outside with him was genuinely refreshing. 🐾
After that I washed the plates and by the time I was done evening had already crept in quietly.
Evening came and NEPA had been completely absent the entire day — not a single flicker of light since morning. We lit up the coal pot and my mom got to cooking. She prepared amala and ewedu for the family. Now I will be honest — swallow is not really my thing, so I decided to go a different route. I completed the beans by adding all the remaining ingredients and cooking it up properly. When everything was done we cleaned up, I fed my dog his evening meal, and we all sat down to eat. 🍲
It was a day that started with insomnia and stubbornly no light from NEPA, but somehow still managed to be peaceful, filling, and enjoyable. Fresh air, good food, and a dog that never leaves your side — that's enough. 💛
How was your day? See you next time! 💕
