The Dairy Game: My Friend Came To Visit Me Today (26-03-2026)

Hi lovelies, my name is Ekemini Edet, also known as Kem Kem1 on steemit. Today started with my usual morning prayer, thanking God for the gift of life and for seeing a new day. I stayed in bed for a while because I didn’t feel like going out early, just enjoying the quiet of the morning. Not long after I got up, I received a call from my friend Happy. She told me she was coming all the way from Abuja to spend some time with me. I happily agreed, not knowing she was already very close. As soon as I ended the call, within a few minutes, she arrived. I was so excited because it had been a long time since I last saw her, especially since she finished my service around 2024. We hugged tightly, exchanged warm greetings, and caught up a little. I was glad I had everything needed at home, Afterward, she decided to rest for a while before going out again. She is currently preparing for her dad’s funeral next week, so she has been very busy running around and putting things in place. I felt happy being able to support her, even in a small way.

While my friend was resting, I remembered I had earlier mentioned that my sister had been very sick and down in health. When my friend arrived, her room was quite scattered, so I decided to help tidy it up since she would be staying there for the meantime. I went into the room, gathered the clothes, arranged them neatly, swept the floor, and cleaned the whole place until it looked very neat and comfortable. After my friend fell asleep, she later woke up and quickly got ready to go out. She said she needed to collect her burial uniform and take it to her seamstress so it would be ready on time for her father’s funeral. After she left, I couldn’t go back to sleep, so I stepped outside to keep myself busy. I then remembered I had some empty cement bags that I wanted to fill with sand for planting. It was not an easy task at all, but I pushed myself because I already had pumpkin leaves that needed to be planted before they dried up completely. After filling the bags and planting them, I went back inside to shower because my body was itching badly, likely from the cement, and I needed to clean up immediately.

After showering, I asked my sister what she would like to eat so she could take her medication. She said she wanted noodles, so I asked my other sister and my friend as well, and they all agreed they wouldn’t mind eating noodles too. Since I also felt like eating noodles, I decided to prepare it for everyone. I didn’t have many ingredients at home, so I just made a simple stir-fry noodles with what I had, but it still came out very nice. We all ate together and everyone was satisfied. After eating, we relaxed and started talking. My friend began teasing me, asking about my life and what had been going on, and we all laughed and gisted for a while. Later, she opened her box and started showing me the things she brought along. She showed me the shirts she ordered, some clothes, and even the hair she bought. She complained that the seller gave her a fake hair instead of the original human hair she paid for, which made her very upset. Despite that, we still laughed and talked about everything. It was really an enjoyable and lively moment, and I truly cherished spending that time with her after such a long period apart.

Later in the evening, my friend told me she wanted to buy something for me since I hadn’t really eaten well in a while. I followed her as we stepped out to our junction to look for something nice. The first place we checked didn’t have fresh meat, so we decided to leave. We then went to another spot called Divinus, where they assured us they had fresh goat meat. We ordered suya there, and it was really nice. She also bought takeaway for the people at home. After eating, we took a bike back to the house. When we got home, we gave the takeaway suya to my sisters since we had already eaten ours outside. Later, I started feeling a bit cold, so I boiled water and took another quick shower to warm up my body. It helped me feel relaxed after the long and busy day. By then, everywhere was calm, and I was already feeling tired. I went to bed feeling happy and grateful for how the day turned out, especially being able to spend time with my friend after so long.
