My friend, Ediomo has taken a bold decision and I'll support him.
It was a beautiful Sunday evening on November 9th at St. Philip Primary School, Use Offot in Uyo, Nigeria. The air was filled with excitement and laughter as families, fans, spectators and football lovers gathered to watch the highly anticipated Use Offot Inter-family Football Tournament. Amidst the cheers and chants, I stood with my dear friend Ediomo Ekarika, cheering on our favourite team.
Ediomo and I have been friends for over 13 years, but our bond grew stronger when I relocated my business to Use Offot, close to his house. Over the years, he had often spoken fondly of his girlfriend, Rita, and I was eager to meet her. But little did I know, our conversation that day would be a memorable one.
As the match came to an end, Ediomo turned to me and whispered, "Let's grab a seat at Climate Resort after this. I need to discuss something with you." I nodded in agreement, curiosity piqued. We made our way to the resort, the atmosphere relaxed and intimate.
As we settled into our seats, Ediomo took a deep breath and revealed the surprise. "I've made up my mind to marry Rita" he said, a wide smile spreading across his face. I was overjoyed for my friend, and as a married man of six years, I felt honoured that he trusted me enough to share this significant decision.
I offered Ediomo my warmest congratulations and shared some words of wisdom, gained from my own marriage experience. I encouraged him to cherish and support Rita, to communicate openly, and to build a strong foundation for their future together.
Ediomo listened intently, his eyes shining with excitement and gratitude. We spent the next few hours discussing the details of the upcoming wedding, and I offered to support him in any way I could.
As we parted ways that evening, I felt happy for my dear friend. By December, we will start making plans for the big day, and by the first quarter of next year, 2026, Ediomo and Rita will be tying the knot. I looked forward to being a part of their special day and celebrating the union of two wonderful people.
Thank you for going through my post, do have a great time ahead.
