THE DIARY GAME: EASTER EVE WAS PEAK, LET FIND OUT [04-04-2026]

Hello everyone, and welcome back. This is @knarfb, and I'm glad to have you here for yet another diary session. Wishing you all peace and blessings.

Today was "EASTER EVE", A night before Easter. In the catholic church today is "Holy Saturday".
In the Easter eve mass every Catholic renew their baptismal vows.

This is a shot taken during the mass, l and my sister holding our candle before renewing our baptismal vows.

Before all this took place let me start from how my day began.

Today was environmental in the whole state, activities where held down till 10pm. Which obviously gave me enough time to get a good nice sleep.

I left for shop around 11am, mass was around 4pm in the evening, so today l had to do things quickly in shop and prepare for church activities.

As soon as I went to shop I went out to buy some clothes (jersey) for myself.

I bought few Jersey for my self. After buying jersey l went into market to look for red oil but couldn't find. Before I got back to shop I was late for church already. My sister began to call me to come to church that they have started mass already. I hurriedly pick up my bag and left for church ASAP. Like I said in last post shop to church is less than a 20 minutes walk.

When l got to the church they where already proceeding into the church. Cause the event started outside the church compound where the burning took place.

This was the parishioners proceeding back to the church. I joined behind in the procession.

When we entered the church we all arranged ourselves and sat down at this point l found my sister and sat with her. The mass continued we had 5 readings today in the mass after the readings the PRIEST sang Gloria with the parishioners. Which was then followed with homily. Today, Baptism was going to take place after the homily. And so it did immediately after the homily the priest began the "RITES OF BAPTISM".

This was during the baptism, the prepared candidate climbed up the Altar one-by-one to be baptized. After doing so they all took their Vows.
After that being done the priest ask all the parishioners to stand up for us to "RENEW OUR VOWS " to do so we all lighted our candlestick each.

I definitely had mine lighted before renewing my Vows.

This was the part l and my sister renewed our Baptismal vows together. By the way the guy next to my sister was her friend. His part of the photo too.

After that the other part of the mass continued we had offertory, thanksgiving and announcement before the final rites was taking.

Where standing she took this shot of me. Across the road. The amazing thing with this state (Borno state) at night is that the state isn't dark it really bright. Street lights are placed on every corners and junction you go to or find yourself in.
After standing for some while we got a KeKe and went home. When we got home we both went to look for where to buy red oil for cooking. After buying l took it home. At home l ate, bathed and pressed my phone. Before sleeping we had a brief joint call in the family to wish everyone a fruitful month ahead.

After the call l went to my bed to take a nap. Before napping l wrote for my steemit friends. And that how my Easter eve went. Tomorrow is the real deal Easter Sunday ( the resurrection of our lord jesus Christ).
