The Diary Game: Being Contacted To Play On A Traditional Wedding Ceremony ||20-12-2025||

I think it is safe to say that I am on an event streak. I bathed on Saturday and then I put a call across to all my band members then I informed them to prepare so we could go to the event center very early as the journey to the place was very far. When we finally got there after three hours of non stop drive, I checked across the event environment so we know the strategic places to mount our speakers and here I was taking a selfie while doing so.

When I finished marking the spot for the sound system, I asked the sound technician to come and mix our sound for us while I made sure other instruments were properly mounted for efficient production. I personally mounted the drum stand because I was thinking I would be the one to play the drums, I didn't know my team members had some other plans for me.

We warmed up the place while waiting for guest to come and also the MC to come start the event. It was a very cold morning and what we did, we made sure the place was properly warmed up. When the MC came, he took the programme for the marriage ceremony and began to do his job.

I went to where the bass guitar was and took my little baby and began to play, oh mine! The feeling I always have playing bass guitar is always second to none. Sometimes I always ask myself a question, like what if I didn't know how to play bass guitar, what would've become of me? What would I possibly take as a hobby?

The couple's really spent money and I heard the event planners aren't even from Nigeria. It was really evident because from their dress, it spoke class and radiate just the kind of people they are. It was so amazing seeing them loved up. And also I heard they haven't been to Nigeria for years now but not for this their marriage they came back to do. Their tent was so beautiful and I loved the decoration.

I won't even forget to talk about the cake, though it looked simple but I think one would from afar know that so much creativity was being put into this and then it's not just the usual. I love the concept of making a tradition inspired cake for an event like this.

In the evening, when we finished our work according to our agreement, our food was brought and for the second time in a year, I ate in an event ground. I ate with my band members and then after that, I went to start unplugging the wires so we could pack our things and go back home.

When we finished packing up, I drove everyone back to their houses and then I returned the instruments to the warehouse and then I went back to my house. Getting back home, I took my bath and had my rest before I shared Friday diary and went to bed.
