M Club at SF Marriott Marquis vs. Any Executive Lounge at JW Marriott, China
The San Francisco Marriott Marquis is very crowded. Its entrance just for check in is also very difficult to get there. We had to call to get advice how to get in since our car was at the EXIT drive way. The direction is clear - drive three blocks from the EXIT driveway street and turn left, left and left three times to Mission street. You will find the entrance drive way. By the way, the entrance area can only hold about 15 cars. That is another reason any guest will have to pay $74.24 for an overnight guest parking.
The cross street parking is at $35 per night without in and out privilege. Since it is so difficult to get in and out to/from the hotel entrance, we decided to park our car there without further hassle.
The hotel room quality is very good. The M Club lounge is also very crowded during the weekend and holidays. Often, you will see close to 85 people who are in the M Club. The daily hot breakfast is always the same with one scramble egg and one white scramble egg, plus bacon and potatoes as well as the American traditional hot oatmeal.
The food and drinks at any JW Marriott Executive Lounge in China are far better than the SF Marriott Marquis'. There is no comparison.
The VIEW at the 39th floor is open nightly at 4:00 PM and provides a spectacular city view from the roof top. It is also very crowded on Sunday night, September 3rd. It is open to general public without an entrance fee.
The front desk staff are very friendly.
You can take a 7-minute walk from at the Market street from the hotel to the Powell street to board a cable car all the way to Fisherman's Wharf for a $7 ride per one way. Walking to the HYDE ST. PIER in Pier 49 or Ghirardelli is just a few minutes. Y TV Uber or can also take a $2.75 F-Line at Pier 39 or Uber back to the hotel.
