My Day Experience as A Housekeeper : How good is it to be one

A Fruitful Day Steemians!

In last year's semestral break, I was in Nalusuan Island Resort and Marine Sanctuary at Cordova, Cebu for a training on tourism related jobs which gave me the chance to experience working in the tourism industry. It gave me an idea what was it like to be working in the kitchen, preparing for
the guests' meals for a limited time, bussing the tables, preparing the rooms for the day's booked accommodation, and other means of attending to the needs of the guests. And today, I feel like sharin' it to you, especially the ones on housekeeping services.

What is housekeeping?

Housekeeping refers to the management of duties and chores involved in the running of a household, such as cleaning, cooking, home maintenance, shopping, laundry and bill pay. These tasks may be performed by any of the household members, or by other persons hired to perform these tasks. -Wikipedia

Just from the word itself, people define it as keeping the house/place in order by cleaning, arranging furniture, giving good ventilations, and such that will make the place good enough to stay, literally.

This is also how I see the word up until I got the chance to be one working as a housekeeper in the resort. At that point in time, I had realized that it's way more than what I know it was.

Energy-draining but fulfilling!

Within that span of time, these were the things done:

1. Making the floor and room furniture dust-free

2. Changing bed linens

3. Freeing the window from stains

4. Providing and making swan fold towels for queen-sized beds, and a heart fold one for single beds

5. Refilling the stock box of the basic hygiene supplies for the guests with shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, and the like.

These are so far just a part of the routinary practices in the housekeeping services. (I did these in more or less 8 rooms in the resort.)

Insight and Realization

HOUSEKEEPING is way more, it's not just plain cleaning, arranging, and keeping everything in order.

BUT IT'S MORE OF ...

Giving YOU comfort, providing YOU with a positive ambiance, ensuring YOU the best stay, securing YOU a relaxing and refreshing sensation, and more that it can provide, all for your satisfaction and welfare.

YOU! It's more of YOU, my friends!

There's more with what we see at some things. So, it's not decent to underestimate works which the world labeled as low-profiled. There are wonders that we can't see in them until we come to try them. KUDOS HOUSEKEEPERS OF THE WORLD!
