Thinking about a Hyperledger Certification?
Are you a developer, software architect, systems administrator or just want to pass a technically focused exam on blockchain?

The Linux Foundation Certified Hyperledger Fabric Administrator (CHFA) Exam is one certainly that should be considered.

Being that there are numerous blockchain certifications out there and even a few on Hyperledger Fabric it may be a challenge to understand what certification may be great for your career.

For example should you take the Certified Blockchain Developer — Hyperledger Certification or should you take the Certified Hyperledger Fabric Administrator?

The exams are vastly different and you can find out more here at this article.

Sadly, blockchain certifications are now getting to be a dime a dozen and there are many organizations that are pumping out certifications that really hold little employer value especially if your taking a proctored exam.
However, for niche areas such as Hyperledger, R3 Corda or Quorum this is not totally accurate for niche areas.
Linux Foundation is the Gold Standard for Open Source The Linux Foundation has a great certification that is technical and is hosted and valid by the leaders in Open Source training and certification. The Linux Foundation’s Certified Hyperledger Fabric Administrator (CHFA) is really the “Star” of the Hyperledger certifications and would have more credibility than the Blockchain Training Alliance’s(BTA)certification and the Blockchain Council certifications.

Thinking of a Hyperledger Certifications? Lets explore the options.
What is the Certified Hyperledger Fabric Administrator (CHFA) exam?
The Certified Hyperledger Fabric Administrator (CHFA) will be able to effectively build a secure Hyperledger Fabric network for commercial deployment, including the ability to install, configure, operate, manage, and troubleshoot the nodes on that network.
This exam is an online, proctored, performance-based test that consists of a set of performance-based items (problems) to be solved in a command line.
Candidates have 2 hours to complete the tasks which are scenario based.
The exam is based on Fabric v1.4.1 as of 01/22/2020

So why would you want to consider the Hyperledger Certification?

First, lets consider how new and the growth of Hyperledger. Having credibility as a Blockchain expert such as a developer in a “niche” area is clearly a good approach to consider.
This is based on demand.
For example Since the beginning of the year, IBM has grown the number of blockchain-focused employees it has from 400 to 1,500, primarily by giving those employees access to its biggest clients. Job Growth is up over 200% this year.

Second, lets consider that the certification is coming directly from the effectively the blockchain vendor or consortium and not a private company that makes a killing running materials and certifications.
Third, Vendor Certifications generally hold more weight than third party certifications. This is true in the Cloud Computing world, Data Storage and Networking worlds which are areas I am grossly familiar with.
This could be very strategic from a vendor perspective where you could have requirements for trainers, professional services and support
Hyperledger is an open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies. It is a global collaboration of who is who in industry. It has the backing of membership companies that pay a hefty sum to participate such as IBM, Cisco, Accenture, Baidu, AMEX and JP Morgan just to name a few.

Technically Superior for Private Permissioned Blockchains — For example Fabric supports distributed ledger solutions on permissioned networks for a wide range of industries. Its modular architecture maximizes the confidentiality, resilience, and flexibility of blockchain solutions.
The Certified Hyperledger Fabric Administrator (CHFA) program allows candidates to demonstrate their competence in deploying and operating a Hyperledger Fabric network through the command line.
You must be familiar with the Fabric Official documentation and only material to really prepare for CHFA exam. This is because you will be referencing the official content for the exam and not memorizing content. Its a hands on exam and not like Certfied Blocckhain Developer — Hyperledger (CBDH) from Blockchain Training Alliance.
Testable Objectives are Clearly Defined. Now this is a first.
Target Audience for the Exam. The exam audience will clearly be technical architects, administrators, blockchain developers and perhaps enterprise administrators

Understanding Exam Scenarios for the Certified Hyperledger Fabric Administrator (CHFA) Exam

In the world of the CHFA exam the exam questions are really “Scenarios”.
These scenarios will be presented to and you will need to read, understand where to find the information in the documentation and then type the proper commands.

What are the main exam scenarios your will need to prepare for?
