Introduction

Disability is a condition or situation which barriers a person from living his/her normal life or stops the person from doing what every other person does effectively. Disability comes in different forms; physical and mental. This is emphasising that one can be disabled in any part of the body and even mentally.

How do you glance towards the word disability? Describe.

Disability is a state where an individual is incapacitated in a particular aspect. He/she can't function very well as he should in some respects. That doesn't mean that the individual is disabled in every aspect of his life.

This reminds me of the word "handicap" used commonly to describe people with disabilities. It is understood that the individual may be disabled in some part of his body but not totally handicapped. People with disabilities are smart, intelligent and very articulated people and, so, cannot be referred to as being handicapped.

I see disability the as having "ability in dis-ability."

Which disability is more challenging? Physical or mental!

I think mental disability is very challenging. Anyone with a physical disability can think well of himself, function in every aspect except in the area where he is disabled. But one with a mental disability may at some point not be coordinated, or have the ability to correlate. When someone is mentally disabled, he may be restricted to doing so many things and being to some places due to the state of his mental state.

I think physical disability has more ability and is less challenging than the mental disability.

How can we encourage those who are going through a disability? Explain!
  • Our physical encouragement is the first thing we should give to people with disabilities. When we avail ourselves, it shows we love and care for them.

  • Next, encouragement is understanding and patience with them. They may not be able to do everything required of them, but we cheer them up with the little efforts they make by being patience. That understanding with them and not pitying them. When we understand and be patience them, that's when empathy and kindness will develop.

  • Taking them for who they are. Disability doesn't mean they are not humans or maybe less humans. They are normal people but only disabled in some aspects of life. Everyone owes them love and respect, and that means we value them.

  • Lastly, for me, helping people with disability in the area where they're disabled is a way of encouragement. By this, it shows that they will not struggle with the activities they can't carry out by themselves due to their disability. Helping them whenever they need help and whenever we can is a way of lending them a shoulder to lie on.

Disability may be a little bit disturbing but not a barrier to living life or stops one from making advancement. Whatever the disability, there's an ability inherent in you. That ability starts with you and your mindset. Just tell yourself I am great, I can do all things. Don't forget that your thoughts and words about yourself matter a lot.

Much love!💕
