Hello, friends welcome to my post in which I have discussed "Criteria for selection!" as part of my participation in this contest


In your opinion, what criteria should be considered when selecting individuals to serve on a selection panel?

Several factors should be considered when selecting individuals to serve, which, in my opinion, include competency, followed by age, technical expertise, communication skills, previous background, and the objectives of the individual.

Most people aren't suited for certain positions due to their age and lack of experience, which should not be overlooked when selecting individuals for a panel. Competency is the key to all, because selecting someone competent enough in a panel simply means good results, productivity, collaboration etc would be achieved.


According to you, how significant is checking the background when selecting anyone for anything? Justify your viewpoint with an example!

If I were to have a company of my own or find myself in a top position where I would need to select someone for something, I would never limit myself from checking the person's background, because it is the only way that I can validate the authenticity of the person and ensure safety and reliability between my company and the person.

Conducting background check help companies, to mitigate risks that are related to potential issues, dishonesty, the issue of not completing higher education, and other negative effects. This is the reason why most organisations and institutions usually requires academic transcript when employing or admitting.


Which qualities would you glance at while selecting anyone? Explain!

  • Integrity and honesty, which is about the person being consistent

  • Positivity and cultural fit, which is how the person can align with other teammates.

  • Emotional intelligence, which is how well the person can work under pressure.

  • Reachability, which is about how open the person is to learning.
