Every year, we compile a list of goals that we wish to achieve or accomplish along the way. However, it is said that man proposed what to do, but God disposed, meaning God's sayings are automatic in our lives. For me, this year, my prioritised list is numerous, which reflects the importance I attach to each item.

• Renting or building a new house: Accommodation is one of the most essential things that we need, especially when we find ourselves in a new environment. I really need to rent or buy a good apartment in one of the cities in Nigeria so I can start a life because I am no longer getting younger but older. If I were to have a good apartment today, I would think of bringing someone in as a wife, to accommodate my visitors who would love to visit me.

• A car: I really need a good car for mobility to work, studies, events, and anywhere that I wish to go. Having a car would improve my reputation, reduce spending money on transportation, and ease the movement of me and those around me. It is the dream of everyone to own a car, and BMW is my dream car.

• Starting my master's degree: I also prioritised this because it would help me to go far in life. Having a master's degree would give me promotion, appointment, and I would be placed in a better position at any organisation that I find myself working for.

• Become financially stable: I want to become financially stable this year so I can support my loved ones, be free from poverty,, live my dream life.

• Travel abroad: This has also been my dream to travel to a better country for greener pastures where I can stay with my loved ones. This would enable my children to have two citizenships.

• Getting a laptop: My laptop is faulty, and it has really affected me, so I need to get a new laptop for work and study purposes

What items would you prefer to remove from your priority list in the upcoming year? Please elaborate on your reasoning.

The items that I would prefer to remove from my priority list in the upcoming year are: house, car, and laptop. The reasons for removing these items from my priority list in the upcoming year are that I don't need to have what I already have. I see no reason to have another car when I still have a car, but I can buy another car next year if I get married, so my wife and I will have cars.

A house is something that would serve me for a very long time, which, instead of having another house, I would invest the money in something productive. Even if I have two houses, it's one that I would sleep in, and I see no reason to get another house when I already have one. Also, once I got a laptop this year, I wouldn't think of getting another one in the upcoming year.

Yes, I believe that a clear articulation of priorities is essential for effectively achieving our goals. Without a clear articulation, it would be difficult for us to achieve our goals, regardless of how important our goals are.

A clear articulation is the plan we have set on achieving our goal, and it's the guidance that we apply in achieving our goals, which, without a clear articulation, would make it difficult to prioritize our goals.
