There is always a way to encourage someone to work hard which one of it is using the phrase "Nothing comes free in life!" which simply means everything we gain usually requires some form of responsibility, effort, or sacrifice. It is a popular phrase that reminds us that even when something seems to be free on the surface, there is often a hidden cost behind it. The cost may not be money, but it can be in the form of opportunity, patience, discipline, or the energy that we put in.
A good example, education may seem to be free when I am sponsored by someone, but as a student, I will have to pay the price through hard work, dedication, commitment, and sleepless nights of reading. The phrase is to teach and encourage us that life rewards effort and the more effort we put in doing something meaningful, the greater the value that we can gain from it.

Yes, I strongly believe whatever we get in life has its own cost. The cost is always money; sometimes it is the time we put into it, our patience, discipline, or emotional strength.
For example:
Success requires persistence and hard work to achieve.
Knowledge costs practicing and time spent on learning.
Strong relationships cost communication, trust, and forgiveness.
Achieving personal growth usually costs comfort, because we must leave our comfort zone.
Most of the time the cost is temporary disappointment or failure, which later becomes a lesson that leads us to improvement. With this being said, I can literally say that every achievement or experience carries a price that shapes our character, life, and prepares us for greatness.

The influential principles that we should cherish along the way as we move through life should be:
Hard work and consistency: The reason for this principle is that hard work and consistency pay off more than rarely in success overnight. My hard work and consistency on Steemit have brought me this far.
Patience: The reason for this principle is that we understand that good things take time and learning to wait and trust the process is very important.
Gratitude: This is a great way to appreciate the effort of someone, the gift of life and so on which is very important because when we appreciate we tend to get more.
Value of Time: "my The principle of keeping to time is very important as it is one of the most valuable resources in life. Once it is gone, it cannot be restored.
