Hi Steemit Family,

Weekends for many people are about rest, fun, or catching up with friends but for me, weekends are delivery days.

I run a small online business where I sell ladies' items clothes, bags, accessories, and more. So while most people are looking forward to chilling on Friday nights, I’m usually planning how to get all my customers’ orders delivered by Saturday or Sunday.

Sometimes I wish I could just drop everything and go out with friends or sleep in till 10am, but business won’t allow that. I’ve gotten used to waking up early, packing orders, confirming addresses, tracking dispatch riders, and handling payments all on weekends. It can be stressful, but knowing that people trust me with their money and are waiting for their packages gives me that small sense of fulfillment.

Do I enjoy it? Honestly, yes and no. I enjoy the fact that I’m doing something for myself, building my brand slowly. But I won’t lie sometimes I’m tired. Sometimes I want a weekend with zero responsibilities. But I keep telling myself there’ll be time for that later. Right now, I’m in my hustle season.
But if I could design my "dream weekend" hmm… it would start with me waking up in a cozy hotel room with a view, no noise, no orders, just peace. I’d eat a nice breakfast, go swimming or just chill with soft music and maybe a book. Later I’ll go out with someone I love, eat good food, maybe try something new like karaoke or painting, then come back and sleep like a baby.

Went to get Itam park to get my orders

That’s the kind of weekend I imagine sometimes, especially after a long day of chasing dispatch riders and responding to “how much?” for the hundredth time 😂.

Anyway, this is just me sharing a little bit of how weekends go on my side. It’s not always soft, but I’m grateful. I hope one day I can look back and say it all paid off.

Sometimes I wonder if people who don’t run small businesses truly understand how much effort goes into it especially during weekends. It’s not just “post and sell.” It’s replying to DMs even when you’re mentally drained, making sure items are in good condition, begging dispatch riders not to disappoint (which they still do sometimes 😩), and still trying to stay polite to customers who can be very demanding.

And don’t even get me started on those who will price a top of 4,500 for 1,500 and still ask, “Is this the last price?” 😭 But as a business person, you learn patience. You learn to smile and say, “I’ll get back to you,” even though you already know they’re not buying.

But here’s the part I love the most: when someone receives their order and texts you, “I love it so much!” or “It fits perfectly!” That message alone can cancel out all the stress. It reminds me why I started this in the first place. I'm not just selling clothes; I’m helping someone feel good about themselves.
Now, don’t get me wrong I still crave those soft weekends. I want to go for picnics, eat shawarma without thinking about restocking, take aesthetic photos and vibe with friends. But until that soft life lands fully, I’ll keep doing my best with what I have.

Also, I’ve learned how to create balance. Even though I’m busy, I try to give myself small treats maybe ice cream after deliveries or staying offline for a few hours just to breathe. It's the little joys that help me not feel overwhelmed.

If you’re like me balancing hustle with life please don’t give up. Some weekends will feel like workdays, but one day, the results will speak. And when that soft life finally comes? We'll enjoy it double because we earned it!

Another part people hardly talk about is the stress and risk of sending money to your supplier in another state. Omo! 😂 It’s not just “send and relax.” You’ll be tracking your supplier, praying the network doesn't mess up, hoping the dispatch doesn’t delay and also hoping the bus driver send your goods on time, and still calculating waybill. Sometimes, they’ll tell you the goods are on the way, and two days later, nothing don show 😩. But you can’t vex because na you still go need them next week again.

Sometimes, you’re literally using your last card to restock, believing that customers will pay up in time but guess what? “Can I pay next week?” becomes their national anthem. 😂 It can be frustrating, but somehow, we keep going.

And when all these are happening, your weekend is flying by. Saturday comes and goes in a flash. Sunday nko? That one is for packaging, responding to enquiries, confirming payments, and mentally preparing for Monday. You’ll just be looking at people posting “weekend vibes” with drink in hand, and you’re there holding nylon and tape, shouting “Abeg make waybill no cut this time.” 😭
You're just praying they don't delay or misplace anything.

Delivery 🛍️ 😊

So yeah, that’s what most of my weekends look like running around, sorting deliveries, replying messages, tracking orders, and hoping everything aligns. It can be a lot, but it’s also fulfilling, especially when customers are happy and things move smoothly.

I really look forward to the day I can take a proper weekend off, maybe travel, relax, or just sleep without checking my phone every hour. But for now, this is my hustle, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

Thanks for reading my weekend story 🥹🛍️

I admire how thoughtful people are about their weekends! People are always so busy packing, running after couriers, answering customers, being nice, etc.. No one understands how tiring that is. People are so nice. People are so tired. They just want to take a break, but always keep chasing after their dreams, running their own business. I hope you continue doing that and one day get to relax fully on a weekend. More people should admire your dedication and hard work.
