The February contest #2 by sduttaskitchen|Modern lifestyle and its side effects!
Hello friends,
Welcome to my blog again! Today, we are looking at modern lifestyle and it's side effects.
What is lifestyle? Well, in simple terms, a lifestyle is that life you choose to live not minding the repercussion. Today, people imitate others to live a life that does not compliment them. Let's look at some of the questions below to ascertain these lifestyles and their effects.
How is the contemporary lifestyle affecting individuals? I would appreciate your insights on some of the potential side effects.
Contemporary lifestyle in this modern age has reshaped how most individuals think, function or relate. With the ruse of social media and constant comparison culture, many people now measure their worth by appearance or their productivity.
One major side effect is mental exhaustion. The pressure to keep up no matter the category, creates anxiety and insecurity. Most individuals experience burnout because we generalize rest as laziness rather than a necessity.
Another one is identity confusion. People are mostly influenced by what the see especially celebrities and influencers without fully paying attention to their personality uniqueness.
We also have reduction in real-life connection. People no longer see physical meetings as important since most things are now done online. Technology has gradually improved communication but yet weakend depth.
Do you believe it is necessary to consider several factors before adopting any new habits? Why?
Yes, very necessary.
Habits shape character and character shape destiny. It is important that before adopting any new habit, one must consider it's long-teem impact, personal values and some other possible consequences.
Firstly, not all trend is suitable for everyone. People just need to find what suits them and go for it. What works for one person may be harmful to another. For example, a productivity work that benefits a business man might be too overwhelming for a student.
Secondly, habits have a compounding effect. An everyday action whether positive or negative, gradually becomes part of one's identity.
Lastly, considering multiple factors encourages intentional living. So instead of copying behaviour blindly, you choose what fits your purpose, goal, environment and health.
Choosing any habit without proper evaluation often leads to emotional strain, inconsistency, frustration.
Do you believe allowing a child to enjoy their childhood is crucial for their emotional, social, and cognitive development? Share your viewpoint!.
Oh yes, it is crucial!
Childhood is not just a phase, it is the foundation of adulthood. When children are allowed to explore, imagin and play while expressing themselves freely, they develop emotional stability and creativity.
Emotionally, play helps children understand feelings like joy, teamwork, patient and disappointment. Socially, interacting and playing with peers teaches empathy, communication and cooperation.
Cognitively, unstructured play strengthens problem-solving abilities and imagination. Imagine a child building with blocks or inventing games or even fixing cars is gradually developing critical thinking skills without even knowing it.
When childhood is pressured or tagged with so many responsibilities or unrealistic expectations, it may lead to low self-esteem or anxiety.
A healthy upbringing with guidance and a little freedom, gives birth to confident and emotionally healthy adult at last.
