The March contest #1 by sduttaskitchen|Significance of Family!
Hello friends,
Welcome to my blog where I share ideas with you!
The significance of familial influences during childhood cannot be overstated. Share your opinion on it!
The influence of family during childhood is one of the strongest forces that shapens a person's future. Normally, a child's first school is home, where he/she learns the basics and the first teachers are the parents. They learn attitude, behaviours and values from family.
Psychologists like Sigmund Freud, said that early childhood experiences greatly affect personality development, which simply means that a child raised in a loving and homely environment often develops confidence and social skills. On the other hand, a child exposed to regular conflict or neglect may develop trust issues, self esteem.
Family influences either make or break people. I have seen someone who grew up in a toxic home and after watching all the drama, grew up acting the same way. His own was so bad to a fault. When family have strong influence on anyone, it shapes their moral value, build emotional stability, affect life performance, and relationships.
Which type of familial culture would you prefer, and what is the rationale behind your preference?
I would prefer a supportive and value-driven family that combines love, discipline, open communication and encouragement of independence.
I chose this to say that;
• Too much strictness brings about fear and fear limits so many things.
• Too much freedom without guidance can create irresponsibility.
• While a steady balance brings about confident and discipline.
A family culture where children are encouraged to express themselves while still maintaining boundaries, helps them develop decision-making skill and intelligence. I was opportune to come from such family culture and today I can beat my chest to say that this culture prepared me so well for leadership and social interaction for my adulthood now.
Please analyse the advantages and disadvantages associated with various family structures, including joint families, nuclear families, and professional families.
A joint family consist of extended members like; uncle, aunts, grandparents and cousins living under the same roof.
Advantages
• Strong emotional support system.
• Shared financial responsibilities.
• Preserved cultural values.
• Children learn respect and cooperation.
Disadvantages
• Lack of privacy
• Conflicts arising
• Slow decision making
A Nuclear family consist of father mother and children only
Advantages
• Faster decision making
• Strong bounding between children and parents
• More privacy
• Strong independency
Disadvantages
• Limited support system
• High financial burden
• Children may face loneliness
A professional family is one where both parents are career-based individuals.
Advantages
• Better financial stability
• Career and ambition motivation
• Higher standard of living.
Disadvantages
• Limited time with the children
• Risk of emotional distance
• Dependence of technology or caregiver.
In conclusion, it is wise to note that each family structure has itel's strength and weakness, what matters most is not the structure itself, but the quality of relationships, communication, and value with the family. A loving nuclear family can be more stable than a conflicted joint family. And a professional family can still raise healthy children if they intentionally prioritize bounding.
Lastly, family influence is the foundation upon which character, confidence and future success are built.
