Hello friends!!
The significance of familial influences during childhood cannot be overstated. Share your opinion on it! |

The place of family in a child's life is very important. I would state this clearly with a story.
Last year I visited one of the slump in lagos start Nigeria, what I was so alarming. I saw young kids roaming the streets without parents living homeless, looking all dirty while some have gone into hard drugs.
I saw young children littered every where, some were fast under the influence of these hard drugs.
I felt so sorry for most of these kids, if they had parents or parental guidance, they won't even be there living under the bridge, taking hard drugs and living such kind of life.
I was able to interact with one of those kids and he told me he has been living there for 15years! I was astonished, I asked him about his parents and he told me his parents passed on after his birth in a car accident.
Now you can compare kids who have the love of their parent actively present with that of these kids whose parents are not present. In character they won't behave alike. Those ones without a family while not be groomed properly and exposed to the world too quickly, they just learn things by their own experience which is so hard.
Childhood entails guidance, love, discipline and leadership from family especially from parents, so if a child doesn't experience all these, his growth in life may be affected in many areas and this will in turn affect affect progress in life and how they see and how things.
Which type of familial culture would you prefer, and what is the rationale behind your preference? |

Family culture is very important therefore I would prefer a nuclear family culture where the parents are directly responsible for their kids especially upbringing. No external help exempt school teachers in school.
The reason for my presence is because I believe that parents should be the first to have one on one training with their children rather than delegating it to relations such Aunties and uncles or grandparents. They know their kids better there they know how best to handle them in terms of care, discipline and trainings.
In a nuclear setting, there is an ample time for parents to give attention to their children and notice when things are not going the way it should be. Therefore I recommend Nuclear culture.
Please analyse the advantages and disadvantages associated with various family structures, including joint families, nuclear families, and professional families |

- Joint Family structure
This is a structure where you have parents, children and even grandparents living together in a particular home. It is an extended family. It is a very large family.
Advantages of Joint Family
Home Expenses are shared among those living in the house so the burden is less on one or two persons
It is usually fun living in such a home because you enjoy the presence of extended relatives.
Children grown in that environment understands what love really means because they see it first hand.
Disadvantages of Joint Family
Quarrels and misunderstanding are prevalent sometimes because of the crowd
Privacy for individuals are not guaranteed
Duties and financial responsibilities may not be shared evenly.
- Nuclear Family
Nuclear family structure consist of the father which is the Dad, the mother which is the mum and the children living together in the home.
Advantages of Nuclear Family
It gives the opportunity to know your children better
Individuals have more privacy in the home
Quarrels and misunderstanding may not be prevalent because of the number
Disadvantages of Nuclear Family
Financial stress may be experienced by Parents because they carry the burden alone.
Parents may lack the experience needed to properly guide their children most times.
Parents who are strictly into business or working may find it difficult combining their job and nurturing the children because children needs all the care and attention.
Professional family
Professional family is a family consisting of parent and children, where the parents are more focused on their jobs, career or business having little or no time for the children.
Advantages of Professional family
Bills and financial burdens may be shared by the couples
Financial stability is achieved faster
They both are their motivation to succeed.
Have the same values in life
Disadvantages of Professional family
Sufficient time is not giving for child upbringing
May now have to depend on externals to take care of their children
Exhaustion is likely to happen amongst the couple.
