A small birthday a big thought through a mother’s eyes
A loving greeting from Tahira Zaman to all my friends and colleagues. I hope you are all well and are finding moments of happiness in your busy lives. Life is actually a matter of thought, passion and intention. Every human being lives with their own thoughts, and sometimes small thoughts teach big lessons.
Today I have come to share another heart touching incident with you all. This incident has settled in my heart like a fragrance, and I want you to also feel this joy and wonder.
It was morning. The cold winter air and the fog outside had enveloped the entire village. The children were huddled in their rooms due to the cold. To keep my daughters happy, I gave them some colorful balloons so that they could keep playing. My son, who is nine years old, is older than them, so I made him sit in the room with them. He always takes care of his younger sisters and treats them gently. I was washing the breakfast dishes in the kitchen, thinking that the children would be busy playing.
But suddenly, when I entered the room, a wonderful scene awaited me. The room was filled with balloons, chocolates and small cupcakes, and the children were happily celebrating their "birthday". All this was thought up by my son. He had brought chocolates, sweets and cupcakes from the shop outside to keep his sisters busy and prevent them from going out in the cold He said, Mom, I thought that if we celebrated their birthday, they would happily stay in the room.
Hearing this, my heart filled with joy. I took pictures of them, preserved their innocent happiness, and thanked God in my heart that God had given me a son who was not only intelligent but also loving and caring. This small effort of his brought me immense joy.
This incident taught me that children are not trained by advice alone, but by environment, observation, and love. When we give children confidence, they do great things with their small efforts. Sometimes children also do things that teach us big lessons in life like love, sacrifice, and the value of small joys.
May Allah make our children walk on the path of goodness, intelligence, love, and compassion Amen.
