It is to be noted that a video is circulating on social media in which it can be seen that five Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma, Prithviraj Shaw, Shabman Gul, Rishbh Punt and Nodip Saini are eating at a restaurant on the first day of the new year.

A statement issued by Cricket Australia said that the BCCI and its board were investigating whether the visit had violated the biosecurity environment at their restaurant.

The statement said that initially the players were isolated as a precautionary measure at the suggestion of the Australian and Indian medical teams.

It should be noted that Cricket Australia has allowed players to sit outside the bio-secure environment, however, eating in restaurants is not allowed.

Chris Lane and Dan Lawrence of the Brisbane Heat have been fined for violating the biosecure environment during the current season of the Big Bash League (BBL).

The four-match Test series between India and Australia is one-on-one, while the next match of the series will be played in Sydney from January 7.
