Happy Turkey Day! - (well, i don't think the turkey was too happy)

Was a turkey pardoned this year by President Trump?

Did the turkey want to be pardoned? Everyone would see how guilty the turkey was. Whatever the turkey did, that needed to be pardoned, must have been heinous! Especially being connected to Trump.

And what is Trump trying to hide, or buy? Trump must have some serious 5D chess move going on, and must be tied to Russia + IsReal? Is this turkey heading to U-crane as a secret weapon against starving troops?

TDS is seriously bad. I am surprised that i haven't actually heard this on the news.

Why is the chicken the bird of feast in Japan?

So, people line up to order a chicken from KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken with 11 herbs and spices) for the Christmas holiday.

Why is a turkey the thing to eat on Thanksgiving for that matter?

Well, in Japan, KFC did a miraculous marketing campaign. People at that time were enamored with American culture. And KFC told people that when Americans had a feast they had a turkey. But, in Japanese, turkey and chicken are both "tori" Tori means bird in Japanese. And since there really isn't turkeys in Japan, Roasted chicken is what was considered the "bird" that adorned the American table.

Well, now, Japanese celebrate the holiday feats with a chicken.

A day of thanks giving, or Thanksgiving day?

It may pain you to know that your lower-grades govern-cement school teacher lied to you. Lied to you about Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving Day was created by President Lincoln, and it had nothing to do with the pilgrims. Or their feast with the Indians that they helped, and was helped by, to get through a very brutal winter.

A day of "thanks giving" has been a long time tradition in the English. If something good happened, you would call for a day of "giving thanks (to God)", similarly if something bad happened, but you miraculously survived, you would also spend a day to give thanks to God.

It was not a national holiday until President Lincoln made it so. And he did so to calm down the nation. Because, when trying to "recruit" people off the streets in New York, many people got angry, and formed a mob, and was rioting. Lincoln ordered the army to shoot down the streets to disperse the protestors. (although the army wasn't aiming for anyone, the bullets went somewhere)

This made a lot of people very angry. Not just people in NYC. So, to quell the anger, Pres. Lincoln called for a national day of Thanksgiving.

And we celebrate that day still. Not quite the story your grade-school teacher taught is it?

Domesticated turkeys - Is it cruel to the turkey to pardon it?

Sooooo, we have bread turkeys, often with artificial insemination, to get turkeys that gain incredible muscle growth. These turkeys could not survive on their own. They are too stupid to not drown in the rain.

They are also soooo big, that if they jump off the porch, they can kill themselves by breaking a leg or crushing their rib-cage.

Kinda like Wal-martians plumped up on McDs. Is it more or less cruel to let this behemoth struggle through its life past its sell-by date? Well, i hope the turkey goes on a diet. More exercise, less intake. Like, instead of giving it a bucket of feed pellets to sink its head into, you put it out to pasture to scratch for bugs, getting exercise and better nutrition.

The turkeys that were running around when the pilgrims were here, were more like these things with massive legs and small breasts. Since they really didn't fly much. Just enough to get up into trees.

So why aren't we eating goose, or duck, or any number of large birds for Thanksgiving feast?

Thanksgiving is a really messed up holiday. It probably owes most of its success to it being a harvest festival. Just, adding another meaning to the harvest feast, that is celebrated almost everywhere on earth… well, in countries that get cold in the winter.

After you have learned more about Thanksgiving, are you happy to celebrate it? Most people i have queried say, of course it was not the greatest beginnings, but getting together with friends and family for a feast is quite important. A ritual that keeps the family and community together. And that is what holidays should really be about.

To give my turkey a fighting chance, I armed it with a blunderbuss.

And then waited for a failure in the blunderbuss, the turkey to roast itself? lol
