What's Your Number?

CryptoMillionaire.png

If you are a normal person (i should use air quotes around normal) then you have a number.

So, what's your number?

As you collect cryptos, it isn't just about more is better, or more money is better. You really only need so much money. You don't need money every month for rent, you need a house to live in.

You don't need money for food each money, you need to eat so much food each day. And you could get that by growing the food in a garden, greenhouse, or food forest. Of you could get that by buying enough food for the rest of your life. Like freeze dried food.

You can figure out how much money you need, to live the rest of your life. And once your crypto is over that number, you are free. You no longer need to work just to survive.

"Retirement Planning"

"Normal" financial people figure out the amount of money you currently spend every month, and then multiply by the amount of years you have left to live. And they say that this is your number.

However, for most people, this is not how you WANT to live.
So much of your life is just paying for thing that you need to work.

If you had no job to go to, would you be living in the house you are currently live in? Would you have the same car if you didn't need to drive every day to work?

Without the job, so much of what you currently have/pay for each month, could just go away.

Imagine, if you have a $700 a month car payment. And, all you really needed to do was drive the grocery store once a week. How much would it cost you to Uber that? Or just have the store deliver. This would be less than $50 a week. You could drop off $700 + insurance from monthly bill. (i am not trying to talk about minimalism here, i am trying to point out that many things you spend your money on is to go to work. Your job costs you most of that $700+ dollars)

You could move out of that million dollar house in the suburbs, that is there only because it is near your job. You could sell that and move some place more comfortable, (and for some people who like, not near anything) and pay much less. Or you could live overseas where the rent is MUCH less what you are currently spending on your car.

So, you need to figure out what your optimal life looks like, and figure out how much that costs.

What is your optimal life?

If you didn't need to live near a job, if you didn't have to go to work, how many of your "friends" would you see ever again? How many people are you entertaining just to maintain your work persona?

Think about the relationships that you want to keep. (And, if you find that is almost nobody, you are a lot less limited) And then think about were you could live, that was better (and probably cheaper).

When you figure that out, figure out the number for buying a house there.

Figure out how much money you need for food? Do you need $100 a week? Or do you need a greenhouse? It is really easy to grow chickens and grow vegetables if you are not working 40+ hours a week.

You know, many people are living in a Van, to live as cheaply as possible, while working and saving money for a retirement. When you remove the high priced city (which you only need for the job) then your life becomes really inexpensive.

When you figure out these numbers, instead of the millions of dollars in a retirement account, you may need less that $250k to never work again.

Bitcoin is currently the best retirement account

If we all bought a bitcoin back when it was $1000, many of us would be so close to retirement.

This is probably where Black Rock and Microstrategy is getting all those bitcoin. People who bought 10 bitcoin long ago, and now see that they have a million dollars "in the bank" and now can spend that money on their life.

If you figure out your number, and then compare it to the current value of bitcoin, you will find the two numbers going towards each other over time. Some day, they will cross. You may even want to make a chart of this. Especially if you are still adding to your bitcoin position. Your monthly expenditures going down and stabilizing at your ideal life, and bitcoin's value going up.

When these two lines cross. You no longer need a job. You are free.

The nice thing about bitcoin is you can just leave it, and its value will most likely keep going up. (i say most likely, because there are other possibilities, like, they actually kill bitcoin, but your bank has a higher chance of failing, with all your paper dollars in it) So, once your lines cross, it is likely that the bitcoin will continue to go up leaving your lots of excess.

And, if bitcoin does become money, you are already invested in it.
(those paper dollars we all have to hold, are almost guaranteed to go to zero)

If you take away the ideas of Lambos and mansions, the actual amount you need to live your dream life is quite small. It is not millions of dollars.

Further, if you figure out your number, then you have a goal. And when you have a goal, your life becomes more focussed. You stop wasting money on stupid things, trying to console yourself, and all that energy/money can go towards you getting to your best life.

And now, with bitcoin being set up on a move to a million dollars each, you have a financial vehicle that can take you there.

Just stop thinking inside the box. Do not think you HAVE TO BUY a mansion/sports car. If you actually want these things, go to Las Vegas, rent a penthouse suite, rent a lambo, and live that life for a bit. Most people find that they find that "high life" meh. Would rather just sit at home. The other people are usually trying to impress others, to buy friends / impress others. (and that is a hole in your heart that needs to be filled, and that is even less about money than retirement)

If you really enjoy vacationing, look into living on a cruise ship. It is often cheaper than living in a motel, and sometimes cheaper than paying rent. All your food, provided. And you just cruise around the world.

So, find your number, and put your spare change into bitcoin.
