Free Gaza--Free America?

My grocery shopping today had some odd items. Two boxes of pierogi and an onion. They're for a potluck for Gaza.

In the months since Israel began a campaign against Gaza that would reminds many of the tactics that Hitler employed, a global resistance rose and continues to act.

In the United States, these activists have exposed the Zionist state. Israel's media narrative is being challenged by TikTok users and media outlets like Democracy Now!

On the political front, the influence of Israel over U.S Politics is on full display. AIPAC's efforts to successfully defeat two pro-Gaza Democrats brought that lobby's power into focus. An "Uncommitted" movement showed the Democratic party that these activists can be an effective political movement.

For all their success, I have a concern if the pro-Gaza movement can make a shift should their efforts end up electing Trump. Can this movement shift from opposing a policy to opposing a whole government? For one, Trump is sure to escalate the genocide, since he knows his base will relish seeing as many Muslims killed as possible.

The pro-Gaza movement has shown an ability to engage in direct action. Could they maintain these actions for months and would the will be there for them to go from college campuses to the streets to keep migrants and refugees from being rounded up for Trump's camps? Is the infrastructure there to coordinate the networks of mutual assistance that would be needed?

There would an economic front. Boycott, divest and sanction, or BDS has been a rallying cry. Is the will there to get the world the BDS the United States, or at least reactionary parts?

I have nothing but respect and admiration for the pro-Gaza activists. I am not sure they are ready to take their actions to the next level. Are they ready to be a movement like Hamas or South Africa's African National Congress?
